E3 2008: Ubisoft Reveals I Am Alive
Okay, so it wasn't just some rumor started by a fan of Jade Raymond's cuteness.
It appears that Ubisoft's secret game, I Am Alive, with Assassin's Creed producer Jade Raymond at the helm, is indeed a very real project. Ubisoft announced it at E3 as a new survival/horror IP, and it's coming to "current generation video game consoles in spring 2009." The basic premise is as follows- the city of Chicago is broken beyond all repair...but we don't really know why. Even so, the player must find their way through the mess, reacting to everything around them as best they can.
"Ubisoft continues to create new experiences for players and I Am Alive will appeal to anyone that enjoys a thrilling journey," said Yves Guillemot, Ubisoft chief executive officer. "The game will offer a rich palette of emotions while challenging players to make life-changing decisions." (source- IGN)
Of course, they're not about to announce the game without showing off some media, right? Nah, they wouldn't do that to us. Ubisoft provided E3 attendees with the debut trailer for I Am Alive, and we're sorry you weren't there to see it... Oh wait, we've got it right here for you! Enjoy.

btw Ben, do you have a contact email address for Ubisoft so i can ask them why they got rid of anyone there with a brain?
Those guys need to get Assassin's Creed 2 made ASAP. There's some heavy story in that game, they need to get the sequel out now before people forget.
and look here, anytime a Ubisoft game is mentioned someone brings up Creed. It's pretty obvious that there's interest in a sequel.

I just had a real bad experience with it.
At first I hated it, then I got the hang of it, and I loved it, then I realized nothing was going to change, and I got bored and went back to hating it.
