E3 2008: More Prologue Updates, But No GT5 Until 2010?
Depending on how you interpret this information, this is either good news or bad news.
Joystiq was able to corner Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi at E3, and of course, they wanted to know about anything GT-related. First off, he did confirm that the long-awaited Gran Turismo 4 Mobile for the PSP was still in the works (despite being in development for almost 4 years now), but it won't arrive until after Gran Turismo 5. Sadly, though, that day may be a long ways off; further than many of us had anticipated, in fact. Yamauchi said Polyphony is currently focusing a lot of its energy on expanding Gran Turismo 5: Prologue with more features, including extra cars and tracks. The final product - GT5 - may not even hit store shelves before 2010, ruling out the possibility of dominating the 2009 holiday season. There is a new update planned for Prologue "in the near future," but Yamauchi didn't provide specifics on that.
Now, here's how we see it- if GT5 wasn't going to come out until 2010 anyway, then great. Keep us satisfied with delicious little Prologue morsels from now until then; that's awesome. But if, for some bizarre reason, giving us updates for the demo means they're taking attention away from GT5, we're not interested in that. We'd rather get GT5 faster than wait longer and download new samples every now and then. Just our opinion. As soon as we can get more info on the subject, we'll throw it up, race fans.

I see it as a test course like you do with real cars, it must be tested a lot before it is ready to be sold to the public.

On a side note, not GT5P related, but racing game fans might care to know... According to sixthaxis, Wipeout HD is still in the works, and SCEE doesn't know when it'll be released... Figures... Typical delays with Sony, nothing new there. Maybe we'll see it in 2011 (if we're lucky)
Here's the link on Wipeout HD.

Another reason why its good to play Prologue is because all of us who do and will play this game consistently until the Full GT5 is released will be of quite higher skill, because especially in GT, practice does in fact make perfect. So its always good to practice on GT and in playing we also do our part to make GT5P better, especially us players who are on the Sony forums. The Developers keep an eye out....
Sucks about GT5 but i have Prologue which makes me moore than good enough. Im a grateful guy.

Look at how long GT5 is taking because of the tremendous detail. GT6 would probably take just as long. Sure the engine would be in place but they would want to update it. Then everything else would probably be built from scratch. I have a feeling they would just start working on their PS4 engine.
This doesn't even matter if GT5 is good enough though.
