E3 2008: No Demo Before SCIV Launch
Most would agree that July's biggest release is Soul Calibur IV, which hits store shelves on the 29th. And we figure just about all of you have been hoping for a playable demo to become available before the game arrives; perhaps one week before, as has been the standard for some big titles in the past.
Unfortunately, Joystiq has confirmed with Namco Bandai that while there will indeed be a demo for the game, it won't hit the Store and Marketplace until after Soul Calibur IV has been officially released. Apparently, Namco representatives at E3 said the team is "currently putting all of their effort towards getting the game ready for its release" later this month. In regards to the demo, all they would say is that it's coming some time "down the road," which probably isn't good news for those anxiously anticipating the blockbuster fighter. On the other hand, if you are lying in anxious anticipation, you probably already know you're going to purchase it; you don't need a demo to convince you. Demos are great for that type of thing, but come on...it's Soul Calibur! How bad can it really be?
We're expecting great things, certainly, so stay tuned for our review, which should be popping up right around the time it comes into retailers. It's too bad we won't get a demo before then, but we remain pretty darn excited for SCIV.

Its the first SC I've owned since 2, and I hated 3 for some reason. To me, 4 took the things I hated in 3 and made them better.
Character creation is still around, but it doesn't let you create from every character. So, no Vader clones or characters based on unlockable or bonus characters, which kinda sucks. Vader's still kick ass though.
Unfortunately it only displays in 720p.
