Gary Oldman Confirms The Dark Knight Video Game

It wouldn't surprise anyone to learn a video game for The Dark Knight is in the works, but it certainly is surprising that we haven't heard of it yet. Usually, the game comes out at about the same time as the movie, and not only do we not have a game adaptation, we weren't even sure such a project existed. The closest you can come is LEGO Batman: The Videogame, but that's not exactly what fans of the big movie want.

However, it seems Gary Oldman himself has confirmed that The Dark Knight is indeed on the way. During an interview with G4's Kristin Holt, Oldman says very specifically that the game "is in the works" and even talks about a scene where his character (Jim Gordon) is on a rooftop alone while Batman "jumped off the building and opened his wings to fly away and save the day." If you want to see the video for yourself, you can check it out at GameCenterOnline. When will it release? Well, not until the movie becomes available to buy in DVD and Blu-Ray form later this year, which means someone may be putting a great deal of effort into the interactive experience... Could this be one of the hidden gems of the year?

Hey, don't rule it out. 2008 has already seen two good games based on movies - Kung Fu Panda and The Bourne Conspiracy - so perhaps the nasty trend is starting to reverse itself. And if the right studio dives into The Dark Knight, we might get a very cool game. If you're a fan of the movie (we are), you're hoping for the best, right?

The Dark Knight.. By Far the best movie ever! And the Joker was beyond amazing! He did everything in that movie... It so fu**ing sucks that Heath died man, he would have been the most famouse for his act. Personally, I have never seen such an amazing Joker... and I doubt I ever well... What did you think of the movie Ben?

I certainly don't think it's the best movie ever (yeah, there are about 50 movies ahead of it on that list), but I loved it. I loved Batman Begins, too, so it's not surprising I liked The Dark Knight so much. And I agree about Ledger. He was a great actor with a guaranteed fantastic career ahead of him...just too bad.

Well, I can't decide if I liked this more than Batman Begins, but let's just say I think they're both great.

Yea, I liked Batman Begins too. Actually I like them both equally, but both movies have a few give n takes. But overall both are awsome... Just like Spiderman 3 was :P

I just got back from the movie, and I watched batman begins 2 days ago. I was really impressed with both of them. I dont think the joker was as amazing as all the hype makes him to be, but dont get me wrong, heath ledger did a great job.
I hope this game turns out to be better than the average movie game crap. It wasen't rushed out to be released with the movie so it has a chance to be good.

Catwoman was good in the batman movie, but after the horrid Halle Berry movie, i think filmmakers will stay away from her for a while

Well maybe the key is to make a video game with the same title...but make it at different times kinda like how the new Spiderman game is being done? It looks alot better than any of the previous Spiderman. Bourne was also done after the hype of the movie so it was done better, maybe thats the key??? Well Kungfu panda was just lucky ;-P
