Rumor: FFVII Coming To PSN And XBL
See Full ImageUpdate: As if it's any surprise, Square-Enix has refused to comment on "rumor and speculation." Yeah, tremendous shock there. We're not even sure why we're writing this.
Original Story:
Oh, look: more fuel for the ongoing fire, now burning brighter than ever. Come on, you know you love it.
By now, all of you are well aware about the resurrected rumor of a Final Fantasy VII remake for the PS3, due mostly to Square-Enix's statement regarding a "big FFVII-related announcement" that will come at next month's DKΣ3713 event. It's the publisher's private party, and we're supposed to expect some major fireworks. But hey, want more? According to a supposed inside source at PlayStation LifeStyle, not only are we definitely getting either a remake or a spin-off of FFVII, but the original game will hit the PlayStation Store as a PS1 downloadable classic (the Xbox Live Arcade gets it, too, apparently). The source says this is coming "at the end of the year," although it's hardly confirmed.
There's no doubt that Square-Enix has something brewing, and at this point, if it doesn't blow us away, we're going to be awfully disappointed. Whether it's a straight-up remake or Final Fantasy VII-2, we don't care...but it had better live up to the hype. And yes, we're well aware that the gaming media are the ones responsible for the hype, but let's just leave that out for now. ;)

i think id start riots.
wouldnt surprise me if the surprise is, ff7 remake for 360 and ps3.
it seems that from now onwards, all SE games will be multi-plat.

no but seriously...i bet that the announceement has nothing to do with a remake...and if it is...id say it could be PS3 exclusive...specially because every single FFVII spinoff or sequels/prequels are exclusive to the PlayStation Platforms...

This site, is once again, reporting rumors. Stop with the damn rumors. When we see FF VII coming to the PSN, I'll believe this. There isn't any reason why FF VII would go to the XBLA, considering the game was published by Sony and the aforementioned reason that there is a Megabit cap on XBLA.
Rumors of a remake have popped up all over the place all the time, and properly shot down. Now may be the time for a remake, but I'll believe when I see it. When it is confirmed by S-E themself I will believe it.

And like it or not, it's part of what makes the news world go 'round in games. The biggest news is almost always rumor-based. People LIKE them. And by the way, if all we did was put up news based on official press releases, we'd update about 1/10 as much, and you guys would be so bored, you'd slit your own wrists. ;)

But still, considering all of the older FF games have been ported to handheld systems, taking them to PSN and XBLA makes sense.

Yes I was going to trade my X360 in to get a PS3 but now of FF13 coming to it I aint. I told you I am getting a PS3! later this year!.
Anyways, I'm agreeing with most of you people. Also about it coming to XBL which is near enough impossible unless it will be like 8 seperate downloads most prob. But I don't believe it happening but then again as said a new partnership has been formed between SE and MS so We'd have to wait, I do hope Sony have it though as its theres no matter how much I would love to download it via my X360, but I still have my PS1 version :D
