Penny Arcade Adventures Sleuthing Its Way To The Network
Xbox 360 and PC users already had the chance to revel in the unique brand of zany Penny Arcade humor when Hothead Games released the first part of their downloadable episodic series, Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, late last year. But soon, PS3 owners will get the opportunity, and that's good news for all you PA fans out there.
According to GameSpot, the first Episode will hit the PlayStation Store later this fall, and will be priced at $20. Perhaps surprisingly, this turned out to be a solid and very entertaining title, and it might be due to the involvement of the Penny Arcade guys. Artist Mike Krahulik drew up the character designs and writer Jerry Holkins took care of the plot and dialogue, so why shouldn't the game be every bit as funny as the comic strip? We at PSXE have been PA fans since their very first comic, and we're hardly the only gamers on earth who label themselves as such. Therefore, we will be interested in downloading Episode One later this year, simply because we're curious if Tycho and Gabe can conquer the video game world...
We can tell you the story drops you in New Arcadia, where Gabe and Tycho - members of the Startling Developments Detective Agency - must set out to solve the vilest of all crimes...no, seriously. We won't give any more away, but if you want the details, check out any one of the reviews of the Xbox 360 and/or PC versions.
