Insomniac: Multiple Ways Of Getting Into Resistance 2 Beta
As all you avid PSXE readers know, we reported yesterday that if you want to secure a position in the upcoming Resistance 2 public beta, you'll have to be a Qore subscriber. But as some of you industrious news seekers have already discovered, Insomniac isn't about to let this limitation stand.
As journalists, we have to say that Insomniac has always been there for the gamer. They continually keep us updated on various matters of importance, and they're always quick to respond to subjects that cause much discussion and debate. They have done so again here, as Insomniac's Community Manager, James Stevenson, has cleared up the beta availability issue with a post over at MyResistance.net. And he hits all the points, so we won't bother to interpret his comments; just read 'em right here-
"Here’s the deal. We are running a Public Beta, and you will have many ways to get in. The best way which will give you the earliest access to the beta will involve a pre-order program that should be announced soon, (for those of you who don’t know what pre-ordering is, you essentially reserve your copy with five dollars down, and that five dollars will go towards the price of the game when it releases).
For all of you folks outside of North America are up in arms because Qore is NA only, please don’t worry. This is one of many ways to get in, and we plan to make the beta available in all territories, as we need to test all servers and worldwide play. Further details on how to get into the beta will be forthcoming."
So there it is. There will be several ways to participate in that beta, but we do imagine space will be limited, which means you should act quickly if you want to solidify a position for yourself. And you'll be hard pressed to act faster than us! ;)

I was told this website is SPECIFICALLY for the beta, and it looks to be and makes sense what with the website talkng about getting a war job [fighting the virus]
Cos we're all one big happy family, i'll post the website here for us. www.getawarjob.com - Or, PSX can post it as news and give me a pat on the back :] That would be great.

A lot of earlier titles used mainly the PPC section of the Cell w/ fairly minimal or rather mundane use of the SPUs...only over the last several months have they really learned what they can do with those. Even Intel is somewhat worried that the Cell has some benefits over most of their own CPUs in a cost/performance aspect for certain applications, even if it's not quite geared towards a desktop PC use.
At least SOMEONE is happy with all 3 major consoles...IBM, since they make and/or mostly designed the CPUs in all 3 of them!

But at the same time, the reports before that release can be disjointed and even downright inaccurate because, as I just said, the company wasn't ready to make the announcement. A team member may have let a little something slip, and it blossomed from there, you know?

also does that mean if we preorder now will we get the code? or should we wait for the pre-order announcement?
