Dating Women, Sexual Themes Included In Alpha Protocol
Oh, this ought to annoy the heck out of those clueless anti-game activists who still believe every video game is a Mario spin-off, and if it even begins to approach the content we see in rated "R" movies every day, the world will explode.
The MTV Multiplayer blog spoke to senior producer Ryan Rucinski about Alpha Protocol, and he confirmed that there will be more than a few love interests for the main character, Michael Thorton. See, as a government operative, you'll be able to obtain new missions (and other forms of assistance) from the ladies you spend time with...but at the same time, the real-life component can rear its ugly head. Yeah, if you get on their bad side, the claws can come out.
"It all depends on how you treat them," said Rucinski. "If you have a strong relationship with female characters, they may help with missions. However, he told me that some of them are 'bats–t insane' and can get you into trouble. One may ask you to assassinate a high-level person. Maybe that’s not something you want to do, but she’s really hot. But there are obvious repercussions."
Furthermore, there will even be a few missions where the entire purpose is to successfully date a girl. Remember these from the past, in old games like Thousand Arms for the PS1? Obviously, they'll be far more realistic and there will be "tons of dialogue;" Obsidian even had to cut "400 to 500 lines" of the more boring stuff, like when the women yatter on about their day of shopping. Will all this translate to sexual scenes in the game? Well, any title that has a "Ladies Man" Achievement just might, so prepare yourselves, young 'uns.
