Madden 09 Demo Hits PSN This Week
Most weekly PlayStation Store updates come and go without much fanfare (honestly, how can you have huge additions every week?), but this week, many gamers will have a reason to log on and check the new selections.
EA will be tossing up a playable demo of Madden NFL 09 tomorrow along with the rest of Thursday's scheduled content, and that should come as good news to fans of the long-running franchise. If you want the full details on what to expect from this demo, visit PlayStation LifeStyle and read up on the official information. You shouldn't expect audio commentary in this particular demo, though; EA apparently took it out to cut down on the size of the file. Remember, the game is due out in only a few weeks time, and we'll probably be hearing all about Madden mania at GameStops throughout the country. They usually do midnight openings for each year's installment, and that's because - c'mon, you know the reason - Madden is always absolutely gigantic.
And while we're well aware that many PSXE readers aren't big fans of EA (and we perfectly understand the reasons behind that sentiment), at least this year's title has a shot at satisfying PS3 owners. Last year's 30 frames per second debacle won't be repeated, so at the very least, both the 360 and PS3 versions should be identical. Beyond that...well, here's hoping we get a true next-gen simulator with Madden NFL 09.

The 360 version of Madden was really buggy. As an example, when you cut players they just disapeared instead of going to the free agent pool. Basically, they were lost forever.
On top of that it was basically just a $60 roster update as there were no memorable new features or innovations in the gameplay. They need to improve the franchise as a whole, not just for the PS3.

Sorry, but 360 owners have nothing to complain about in regards to EA. At least, nothing that everyone else would normally complain about (lack of innovation in the franchise, for example).

Last years PS3 version was by far the worst version I've played.
I'm looking forward to this years edition and say except for the ridiculous price of $59.99 and $89.99 (Anniversary addition) I really can't complain if it's good. I can't wait to export my easports fantasy team into Madden 09 !

But the point is, they're a lot closer to said category if we're talking about the PS3 version.
