EA Announces FIFA 09 Release Date
Okay, soccer fans, we know you've been waiting on an official release date for FIFA 09, and now it seems we have one. This year's installment is already generating a great deal of hype, mostly because early previews and details have pointed towards one very encouraging possibility: this one might be the "futbol" simulator next-gen gamers have been waiting for.
According to MCV, EA has revealed that FIFA 09 will release for all major platforms on October 3. Recently, the Pro Evolution Soccer series has been topping EA's long-running soccer franchise due to better overall authenticity and control, but that may change come fall. Senior product manager Trevor Uzice reminds everyone how hard they've worked to make FIFA 09 stand out from the competition.
"We've made over 250 improvements from last year and we wanted to give the team the time they needed to make the best FIFA game possible. We're continuing to build on the solid foundation from last year which saw us create the most successful FIFA both in terms of sales and quality."
Uzice also revealed that EA has been working with "several Premier League clubs," which should allow them to forge a closer bond with fans of the sport. They'll be "working with all clubs from the Championship, Division 1 and Division 2," and all in all, this year's entry is striving to be the most robust installment yet. It should be well worth our time!
