Europe To Get SIREN: Blood Curse Blu-Ray This Fall

From what we can gather based on critical feedback, the downloadable survival/horror adventure, SIREN: Blood Curse, is well worth a purchase for fans of the genre. However, you may want to wait for another option...

As some of you may already know, the download file for the game is a massive 9 gigabytes, and that - obviously - can take a while. But according to Joystiq, SIREN: Blood Curse will release in standard Blu-Ray disc form in Europe later this fall. The price of the download currently sits at £19.99/€29.99, and if the Blu-Ray carries the same retail tag, you may choose to bypass the gigantic download and pick up the disc when it arrives. As for North America, we're not sure yet if the game will receive the same treatment, but we'd like to assume it will. In fact, some will argue that all full Store/Network games should be available both online and in Blu-Ray disc form, simply because the second option makes things easier for certain people. If you're one of the latter group, stay tuned for any news regarding Blood Curse on Blu-Ray in the U.S.

But hey, no matter how long it takes to download 9 gigs, it's still longer to wait for the standard disc, so it's up to you. We're hoping the game is worth the effort, either way.

Odd Child...I dl'd this on DSl and it took me all night while I was sleeping and was done by the time I came home from my summer job. Oh, and anyone reading this, I would highly recommend getting this game. If your worried about taking up space, this game has an option of deleting all but the first chapter (12 in all) and then being able to freely re-download them all again later...pretty cool!

You can get the game divided into episodes Odd Child. I was wondering about a Blu Ray version of SIREN coming out here in the states eventually.

Think sadly though it cost more per episode download than straight one package download. They would probably want $60 bucks for the Blu-ray Version if it came available.

I downloaded this game and it was well worth it.I do however have a 320gig HDD so space was no concern. All twelve episodes took about nine to ten hours to download and install over DSL.

I played the demo and thought it was good, but I'm gonna wait for a retail disc version. 9 hours...shhhit. As for the price most full games DL-able off the network are always cheaper than standard full price games, i.e. Warhawk

www.play-asia.com is your friend. There is a "Japan" and an "Asia" version of the game. The "Asia" version has English spoken language, English subtitles, and English tutorial as if it's a "western" release for just under $60 depending on shipping. I just placed an order, but it has yet to ship. There were a couple of people on the official PlayStation forums that said that they didn't have any problems. Because PS3 games are NOT regionally encoded, I suspect you can also import a copy from Europe as well eventually.

This game is definitly not safe to play at night with the surround sound up in a pretty empty basement!

That's great news, means I don't have to worry about HD space. And judging by the trailer, this might even give Silent Hill V a run for its money...
