Rock Band 2 Release Dates Leaked?

Last year's Rock Band was a smash hit, as consumers obviously didn't balk at the $170 price tag for the full package. The game eventually sold over three and a half million copies, and over ten million songs for the popular title have been downloaded from the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace.

Hence, there are plenty of fans out there anxiously awaiting the official release dates for Rock Band 2. Up until now, all we knew is that it would arrive some time later this fall, but a retail tipster and Kotaku reader has issued some new evidence. As you can see in these leaked images, the sequel will have three separate release dates for the PS3, 360, and Wii versions-

  • Xbox 360- September 14
  • PlayStation 3- October 19
  • Wii- November 18

It may annoy some PS3 owners that they once again have to wait longer for their version, but hey, at least all three will be on store shelves before the holidays hit. Of course, that's just assuming this evidence is true, and retail proof can be erratic; one day it opens our eyes to something new and true and the next, it's just an estimated placeholder release date or worse, a Photoshopped pic. Don't worry, we'll try to clear this up soon.

I would probably more interested in this game if the graphics were more visually appealing, and they didn't flash lights like a LSD Acid trip. I don't know maybe its the whole fake plastic band thing.

lol - I love the game and have bought lots of songs, but I understand what you mean about the plastic feeling. BUT - they are closing the gap with Rockband 2 and the new equipment that should better emulate real instruments. It won't be exactly the same, but they are making them closer than RB1 equipment. Can't wait!!! I'm just glad the RB1 songs are backwards compatible.

I would say that the gap is closing pretty quickly because this drum set doubles as a real electronic drumset...
