Bioshock PS3 Survivor Mode Unveiled
PlayStation 3 owners will get a seriously tasty treat in the form of Bioshock later this year, and while Xbox 360 and PC owners can brag and say they've already had it for a year, the experience isn't identical. The PS3 version will boast more than a few bells and whistles not featured in the previous versions, plus all the downloadable content that has arrived thus far.
One of the more intriguing additions to the PS3 version of the game is something called "Survivor Mode." We were only aware of existence until now, but 2K has finally explained this new mode: essentially, it's a super hard difficulty level where "you're more vulnerable, enemies are tougher, and every resource is more precious." In other words, "every fight is a decisive, life-or-death struggle," and getting killed will carry with it the heavier consequence of getting less EVE back. Obviously, it's a bad idea to attempt this mode if you haven't already played through the game at least once, but it's great for all you Bioshock adorers out there. Some PS3 owners may not fully understand the greatness of this particular title, but in due time, you will...
If you wish to tackle Survivor Mode, you had best play around with all sorts of different Plasmids, and carefully setting up combat strategies is crucial. Hell, fighting a Big Daddy in Normal mode can be a very challenging proposition; we can't imagine how nutty it might be in Survivor Mode. Anyway, stay tuned for more on Bioshock as we get closer to its PS3 debut.
