First Madden NFL 09 Patch Ready
This year's Madden installment is just around the corner, and they're already talking about the first patch.
According to PastaPadre, producer Phil Frazier has released the details on the first patch for the highly anticipated football simulator. The patch will go live right around the time of the game's launch - August 12 - and will address a variety of minor fixes that most gamers might not notice in the first few hours of play. But some of these changes do impact the gameplay; for example, without the patch, there seems to be an inordinate number of long kick returns. Guess the defensive AI just wasn't good enough, so this patch fixes the issue, and they probably need it for NCAA Football 09, too (players are complaining - or bragging - of the same flaw). Another patch will quickly follow the first, and it will "react more to the community suggestions," like the question of computer quarterback accuracy.
Lastly, we're starting to hear whispers about downloadable content for Madden NFL 09, and there is the distinct possibility some of it could be free. What are some of your ideas on how to make the game better? Let 'em know, and just maybe your feedback will result in changes for the better...with patches and updates, gamers have a say in this new generation, you know. Nothing says the a title can't get better after it's released.

there have always been one or two cool features in madden that they purposely keep out of ncaa, but as a whole, ncaa is always better imo

Would you like for them to forget all about the game and let problems run rampant?
Also try to remember a patch/update isn't always there to "fix" something, sometimes its there to add things that might enhance your enjoyment.
I guess from your point of view, how sad is it that SC4 and GTA4 got patches days after they first came out...
