Soul Calibur IV Sells Over 2 Million
We don't know about you, but we're certainly having a lot of fun playing Soul Calibur IV; working to give every character their ultimate weapon is actually quite entertaining. But we're not the only ones having a blast with Namco's blockbuster fighter.
It'll be a while until we have official results, but several outside sources are reporting that the fourth iteration of the esteemed fighting franchise sold over 2 million units during its first release week. If you've already forgotten, that was only last week as the game hit store shelves in North America on August 4. This could certainly help Namco's bottom line, because the company's quarterly results (which we won't depress you with here) weren't good at all. It's likely that Namco Bandai dumped a whole lot of money on SCIV, and they're probably expecting the game to sell enough to bring in a hefty amount of profit. We'll wait on the official numbers from the NPD for the US, but in the meantime, these early numbers are a good indication. Soul Calibur IV is super popular, and it should retain that popularity through the next few months.
If you haven't yet picked it up and are looking for a quality addition to your PS3 library, we strongly suggest making the purchase. You'd have to be quite the fighting genre cynic to be disappointed with this production.
