The Sexy New Lara Croft Revealed

Due to the increased level of game quality and the extremely popular films, Tomb Raider mounted a comeback in the last generation, and with a new generation, it seems they wanted a new real-life face for Lara Croft.

In the past, the game was promoted by several different Laras, including models Nell McAndrew and Lucy Clarkson, but now, the job falls to a former receptionist who suddenly finds herself in the video game limelight. Her name is Alison Carroll, a 23-year-old who, according to a variety of sources including the The Sun, is the "public face and body of the Tomb Raider cyberbabe after beating hundreds of other girls to the coveted role." She's all set to embark on a worldwide trip to promote the franchise and the upcoming Tomb Raider: Underworld. Said Carroll-

"I'm single and having fun, I'm not looking for a long-term relationship as most men can't keep up with me. But playing Lara Croft, the sexiest game heroine there is, should get me a few more dates!"

...we have difficulty believing she had trouble in that area before, but we digress. Carroll went on to say that she felt "so good" when she donned the classic costume for the first time, and with all that gear, she "really felt like an action heroine." Perhaps ironically, Carroll said she had to go all Lara-like to get to the meeting where her life changed:

"I had the meeting arranged for the morning but got locked inside my flat and couldn't get out. I am on the first floor and the only way out was over the balcony in true Lara style. All the neighbours came out and I'd only lived there two weeks and didn't really know any of them. They were all laughing. I chucked my bags over the balcony, over I went, then jumped onto the fence and got down. We got to the meeting on time to find out I'd got the role!"

Well, that's fitting. Anyway, say hello to the new Lara Croft; you'll be seeing a lot of her, especially as we get closer and closer to the Underworld release date, which is currently November 18.
