First-Person Or Third-Person Bond?
We always appreciate it when developers check with the gamers for their ideas and preferences; Activision and Treyarch did just that in regards to their latest Bond game, Quantum of Solace.
The publisher issued a poll asking fans of the franchise if they'd like to stick with a first-person Bond, or if they'd rather try something new in a third-person action game. As it turns out, there really isn't a definitive answer, as Treyarch community manager Josh Olin said the market survey was mostly split. It was about 60-40 in favor of FPS. (source- MTV Multiplayer) However, that's good news, because Treyarch has worked to implement both viewpoints into the game, even though it's "primarily played" as a first-person shooter. When Bond takes cover behind walls, though, the game shifts to third-person, and it will also move to third during certain action sequences as well. Therefore, it seems that you really can satisfy both sides of a debate, even if one side does - technically - get the win.

Least they're trying something to make both groups happy though, maybe it'll work out well.
