Spore A PS3 Console Exclusive?

Epic Games praised the PlayStation 3's propensity for user generated content, which is one of the biggest reasons why Unreal Tournament 3 debuted first on Sony's platform. And as the Spore-for-consoles rumor grows, this fact comes back into play.

Along with the game, something called the "Spore Creature Creator" will release, and that makes perfect sense. This is one game that will embrace the concept of user created content, which is why so many PC fans are anxiously awaiting its impending release on September 7. However, Spore could end up going to consoles as well...and given Microsoft's policy on user generated content, this could mean EA will have to pass on the Xbox 360 as a designated location for this promising title. The PS3 inherently allows for more possibilities in this area, and the idea of a Creature Creator would certainly fit best on Sony's next-gen machine. Of course, this is all little more than speculation - as sparked by Australian game site GamePlayer - but it's certainly something worth thinking about.

Despite the fact that multiplatform titles are the name of the game (pun intended) in this generation, there are differences between the consoles, and something like Spore, or UT3, can point out those differences. We'll have to see what happens, but for now, just consider it food for thought.
