Only thing I've gotten from Sony regarding any betas was if I preorder SOCOM I can join the public beta. Nothing on HOME, but then again, I'm in the US, not EU.

I swear, the second I read this article, I jumped straight out of my game chair onto my pc to check my hotmail for that letter of much anticipated news, but unfortunately saw nothing other than the usual ps blog news. :(

Overall though... still sad considering that Sony's success can be attributed to the fans that support it, and have supported it for years. Why not make it easy for people to join in the fun. Why create a beta "apartheid" by restricting access for so long. The more people that can contribute and test the system, the better I say... and that goes for games in beta too!

It's called a beta for one reason; Test. Chefs' taste their food before they send it out. Game Developers test their games before they send it out. Car Manufacturers drive their cars before they send it out. I don't know where you've been hiding, but it's a regular day-to-day basis with almost anything that has technology running it--it is being tested. Home has the same exact concept. Yes, it does take long... no, we won't be disappointed. Now, I can't speak for everyone... but for the ones that are truly looking for some fun within Home, I gurantee you'll be astonished.

I'm from the EU and i seem to be the ONLY one who didn't get in.

By browsing the European forums it seems that the EU beta testers were chosen completely at random because alot of people who spend ample amounts of time and money on PSN didn't get in, and some people who have bought next to nothing and play "every now and then" got it.


Kind of a shaft but things are always like that over here in the EU :/

ive been beta testing home since may 07 and its not that cool. they have a lot potential but there not over the hump yet. i hope they have a big update before they make it a public beta or most people will be mad about it.

@n8dogg it's a run down beta version of Home.We don't even know all the features of the finished product.Sony isn't going to give us all the features until Home goes public.Have you not noticed the lack of third-party presence in Home beta.

I UNDERSTAND THEIR NOT GOING TO GIVE YOU THE FULL PRODUCT. THE POINT IS THAT EVERYONE WANTS TO GET INTO THE BETA AND FOR WHAT REASON. MOST WILL NOT BE HAPPY RIGHT NOW. THATS ALL IM SAYING.

@n8dogg I completely agree with you about people not being happy with Home at it's current state and believe there is a lot more to Home then what we have seen in the beta.I was responding to your comment in my last post where you said "Home isn't that cool".You can't judge a book by it's cover,unless it's some cheesy romance novel your wife is reading!

day one, im finding it very cool.. but will i be still finding it cool by day 30 and beyond? I dont know.

I hope the e-mails are still bein' sent out here in Europe. I'm connected and playing over the PSN more than the average PS3 user and ave spend quite a bit on the store. (not to mention downloaded quite a lot of the free stuff)

If I don't get in, they must be looking for those gamers who don't sleep much or in fact send 'em out randomly.

I was on the original Beta test group for Home and two days ago received an email from Sony regarding a second phase of Home Beta testing that would require a download of a new software version. Also, I am not European.

There ARE Americans in the beta and have been since the European one rolled out. I know because I am one of them. There were at least a few of us. lol I received the e-mail regarding a new beta client a few days ago, but I haven't downloaded it yet. Guess I'll have to check it out because I was bored with what was offered before.

Interesting that the 2 comments above have only 1 post to their names and both claim to be part of the beta. Sounds suspicious to me. And similar to every other such claim.
All of these are trolls that attempt to spread disinformation. These people are the dregs of the of H4x0r society.

Your profile page on another site doesn't prove a thing.
I suggest that you are a troll here, not necessarily here. And frankly, i see no proof otherwise. Virtually everything about these messages from supposed Non-EU Home Beta Testers stinks of trolldom.
Whether the beta is EU or expanded beyond, there are many people on the net who are obviously pretending to be in the Home beta to spread disinformation. Probably, they think they are great manipulators, while in actuality they are amateurs.
And you are so obviously one of these people that no one would even need to question it.

Beside my username on the PSU it even lists me as a quote "Home Beta Tester." Does Sony mark individuals as Beta Testers when we really aren't to go troll boards?

Poet, I know you want to keep trolls out as much as I do, but I think this is one instance where these guys are telling the truth. I have the copied e-mails from them, and they seem official to me. I know you meant well for PSXE, though. :)
