Rumor: Home Beta E-Mail Invites Sent?
Officially, invites for the upcoming PlayStation Home beta have not yet gone out, but there are reports flying around the Internet that a few lucky users have seen the e-mail they've been waiting for.
The question is whether or not this is the one and only round of e-mails, or if more are coming to the U.S. As it stands now, it seems more than a few European PS3 owners have received e-mails confirming their attendance in the Home beta. The only beta going on right now is a closed one; in fact, Euro testers have been involved in that beta for months, but what American gamers are interested in is the public beta. The last report from Sony on the beta involved that PlayStation 3 Home theme you can download off the Store; once downloaded, you will officially be part of the beta drawing. However, Sony did say they will give preference to those who have "been active" on the Network, which obviously means you'll have to be playing around online quite often in order to get noticed.
We imagine nothing is going to get cleared up until we have official announcements, and in the meantime, because Home is global, it's tough to produce accurate reports. Most everything we see is rumor, so if anybody out there has seen e-mails, or knows anything regarding new Home information, feel free to let us know. Honestly, we don't know much more than you guys right now.

By browsing the European forums it seems that the EU beta testers were chosen completely at random because alot of people who spend ample amounts of time and money on PSN didn't get in, and some people who have bought next to nothing and play "every now and then" got it.
Kind of a shaft but things are always like that over here in the EU :/

If I don't get in, they must be looking for those gamers who don't sleep much or in fact send 'em out randomly.

It is rather childish of you to call me a troll just for trying to help spread information, correct information at that.

I suggest that you are a troll here, not necessarily here. And frankly, i see no proof otherwise. Virtually everything about these messages from supposed Non-EU Home Beta Testers stinks of trolldom.
Whether the beta is EU or expanded beyond, there are many people on the net who are obviously pretending to be in the Home beta to spread disinformation. Probably, they think they are great manipulators, while in actuality they are amateurs.
And you are so obviously one of these people that no one would even need to question it.

Nice to know that you gauge whether someone is a troll by how many posts they've made. I'd say you're the troll for attacking those that are trying to share info. Do you want screenshots or what? lol
Though I'm sure that this still isn't good enough for you, following is the e-mail that I received from SCEA. I sent Ben a copy of it yesterday. His reply said that he posted it up in the updates.
PSXE EDIT by Ben Dutka: Yes, I did, so we can all calm down now. If you want to see part of it, Poet, it's in the article.
