Force Unleashed Demo: August 21

When LucasArts issued that big round of layoffs, some were concerned it might have an adverse effect on the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. But things have carried on as planned, and the game is still scheduled to arrive on September 16.

Better yet, we now have a release date for the impending demo we were promised. Earlier, during an interview with G4TV, LucasArts Marketing Manager Matt Shell revealed a demo for The Force Unleashed would be coming to the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace this month. Now, according to PSU, it's coming next week, on August 21. The demo will show off a "special version of the Tie Fighter Construction Facility, where players will have access to extra force powers and a 'super secret' ending to the level not found in the final version of the game." Those of you still unfamiliar with this title should also be aware that you will play as the Apprentice in this "Star Wars" game. Oh, and you should be able to take control of Darth Vader at some point, too. Isn't that enough to entice any and all hardcore fans of the legendary movie series?

But if you're still not convinced and you'd rather take it out for a test drive before purchasing, feel free to log on to either the Store or the Marketplace next week to download that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed demo. We assume you'll come away happy with the experience.

I really wish this game is a good one.

The demos availability that came along with this generation is awsome, it helped me to decide myself to get or not a lot of games.

Man, I can't wait to play with the new DMM engine right alongside the very beautiful Euphoria! This game will definately be a smash hit (or at least I hope).

It is going multiplatform to just about everything but the PS3 is one of the lead systems so I am pretty sure it will be one of the best versions. The PS2 and Wii versions etc will probably be dumbed downed versions. Although the Wii does have an added multiplayer game type that is like a lightsaber duel.

I wasn't too interested in this game at 1st, but the more I see of it the more interesting it gets. I'll definitely check out the demo and most likely at least rent it.

i love Battlefront, looking forward to no.3 more than most FPS's at the mo... i reckon after this game is out we should hear some news!

I just had the hardest fight so far in Soul Calibur... Vader (me) Vs the Apprentice.

just makes me want Force unleashed even more! i know i shouldnt go by what Nanco have done, but the apprentice is one hell of a character.. looking forward to getting this.. (after Mercs 2 of course :-) )

man, i don't know what's wrong with that duuuudde. but he is hard! i started the arcade mode with some other character, but when i got to the apprentice, i'm like dang, maybe only a jedi can beat him. so i take out darth vader and i still get my arse wooped. i don't know, but you're right, that only makes me wanna get this game.

As long as the game Doesn't SUCK ASS like the SW characters on SC4, im interested. Seriously, they suck. Why is Vader so slow? How come the apprentice only has like 2 or 3 low attacks, not very good ones at that?

i don't know if you ever played any of the star wars games on the original xbox, but they kicked butt. i think they were jedi academy and i forgot the name of the other one, but a star wars jedi game of any type is good enough for me.

now the star wars games we've gotten based on the movies? yeah, they suck. and the jedi on battlefront? i'm sorry, but they suck too. what we really need is a star wars jedi game that is not constrained by the movies.
