Left 4 Dead PS3 Listed By UK Retailers
When a rumor doesn't want to die, and sources continue to find scraps of information that sustain said rumor so it can't expire completely, the game in question continues to come back around, over and over. So far, such has been the case with Left 4 Dead.
Still officially not coming to the PlayStation 3 and only set to be available for the Xbox 360 and PC, Valve cleared up the previous rumor by simply saying there are no plans to produce the promising survival/horror title for Sony's machine. However, some people interpreted the clarification as, "there are no plans yet," and a few still believe Left 4 Dead will eventually show up on the PS3 as a port at a later date. And now, more evidence, as spotted by PSBeyond, says this just might happen: several UK retailers, including Play.com, GamePlay, and Game.com, suddenly have listings for a PS3 version of Left 4 Dead. This doesn't change what Valve said and it doesn't change the fact that Valve really doesn't like the PS3, but they could just dump the development duties onto EA again. They did that with The Orange Box, remember?
Either way, it's just more fuel to the growing rumor fire, so you can take from this what you will. Survival/horror fans watched in disappointment as Alone in the Dark fell flat so they're not all that excited about the PS3 version's release in November. Hence, wouldn't they like to have something like Left 4 Dead...? Perhaps only if it's not a crappy port.

It also doesn't help that they try to cover up their lack of skill by blaming the PS3.
