SCEE Confirms Ratchet And Clank: Quest For Booty Release Details

We know you European gamers often get the short end of the stick when it comes to PlayStation Store content, but we've got some good news for you, here. Ratchet and Clank fans, you will be especially interested in the latest information concerning the new downloadable pseudo-sequel, Quest for Booty.

Following closely in the footsteps of last year's gem, Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, Insomniac will deliver a "comically destructive mini-adventure" at that they're calling a "wallet-friendly mini-price." According to the official press release by SCEE, Quest for Booty will hit the Store on Thursday, August 21 (this week, gents), and will cost only £10. If you'd rather wait for the Blu-Ray version, that will become available on September 12 and yes, it will boast the same agreeable sticker price. For fans of the long-running and critically acclaimed franchise, Quest for Booty should be a no-brainer. It won't be as long as Tools of Destruction, but it's guaranteed to have the same polished flair and always-entertaining gameplay, even if it is coming in bite-sized form. Besides, at that price, one should be able to justify a purchase.

See? European gamers aren't always left in the dark when it comes to great new content for the Store, and this week, you'll get to download and play one of the best pieces of content for 2008. Have fun!

How does 10 pounds translate into american dollars...i know the pound is only a bit more valuable than the us dollar. So does that make it like 15 bucks here in the states?

If you want it on Bluray you'll have to import. US will not be getting the game on bluray. PSN Only. The likely reason it will go Bluray in Europe is for multi language reasons, and sales on bluray would just be easier and market better than a bloated download of the game.

It will be 14.99 dollares, Sony said so during E3. It's going to be about 3-4 hours long and at the end it's announced a new R6C game for 2009

I can't wait. I know they said that you don't have to own Tools of Destruction, but I hope there's something along the lines of secret weapons if you've completed TOD...

£10 is around $20 so it should be around £7.50 for the UK and Europe not £10. But still, am not playing and games atm so Thursday i will be downloading!

heh, the cost of living is different, and pretty much everything costs more in Europe than the US. I remember a friend telling me he saw a digital camera back home in the UK for £400 which translates to $800. While visiting the US, he saw the very same camera for sale for $500. PS3 is like that. It sells there for £299 ($600) while it's $400 here. Looks like the PS3 in Japan with MGS4 is about $450, and that's a 40gb drive. US sells for $500.

Yeah you're right Zapix, until the last few months it used to be £1 to $1.50, and, despite the weakening in our economy the UK the conversion rate is still favourable on the UK (£1 to $1.80). But as you say the UK has always had technology at higher prices, (probably something to do with tax, i don't really know the economic workings exactly)and so we will never get a true converted USD to GBP price and rather an overpriced on items such as games. And that's only gonna get worse as the economic downturn destroys the credability of the GBP.

Not at all, I got Tools of Destruction a couple of weeks ago, and it's great! I haven't played any of the other games either, but will definately play others. The demo on the PSN does a decent job of giving the feel of gameplay, which sold itself to me.

I've bought every Ratchet and Clank since the beggining other than the handheld iterations but im definatly going to buy Secret Agent Clank. My advice to you tramp is that while the games are not essential to the storyline they are definatly worth the measly price you'll pay for them now. I mean if you like games that have variety, ott guns, excellent gameplay and genuine laugh out loud comedy there's no substitute. All I can say is avoid Ratchet:Gladiator (not sure what it was called in the US) but it dispenses with the charm of the others rather than being a platformer-cum-3rd person shooter, it's just a straight up 3rd person shooter.
