Armored Core: For Answer Rumbles Into Stores On September 16
Mech fans who enjoy good gameplay usually can't turn to the Gundam titles - they're either just plain mediocre or downright awful, like Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire - but From Software's Armored Core franchise has routinely delivered the goods in spades.
Ubisoft just recently revealed the latest entry in the franchise, the strangely named Armored Core: For Answer, and suddenly, we now have a release date. Apparently, they waited until the game was almost fully complete before issuing any concrete details on it; according to GameSpot, this one's coming in less than a month: September 16. These games have always boasted intricate, intense battles between immense pieces of machinery, and they're expressly designed for avid followers of the series. Action fans who aren't familiar with the franchise may be surprised and even uncomfortable with the inherent complexity of an Armored Core. However, given the streamlining we've seen in next-gen titles so far, it's not surprising to see the developers include the option of using either beginner or advanced control mechanics. Great idea, we say.
In addition, For Answer will feature a great online co-op mode (30 missions!) in 80 different arenas, which means this new installment will also fully embrace the online aspect of a new generation. Can you believe this one is the thirteenth Armored Core? Dear Lord.
