Bioshock PS3 Set For October 21

2K hasn't been hiding much after revealing Bioshock for the PlayStation 3, as we continually see updates and plenty of information concerning the game's content and release. Not long ago, they narrowed the launch down to October and now, according to GameSpot, they have solidified an exact release date.

What should be the best version of this fantastic game will release for the PS3 on October 21 in North America and October 24 in Europe. We probably shouldn't have to remind you, but all the downloadable content currently available for Bioshock will come with the PS3 version, and 2K just recently revealed the addition of "Challenge Rooms" for added difficulty beyond the regular story campaign. And of course, what with the new Trophies now in place for Sony's machine, we will get those as well. Even though it may not make much sense to nominate what is originally a 2007 title for a 2008 GoY award, we might just have to make an exception regarding Bioshock. Those of you who have already played it on the Xbox 360 or PC are well aware of this game's immersion factor and overall appeal, and we do believe there's a reason to play it again on the PS3.

And if you haven't yet played it, than prepare yourselves for one of this generation's top titles so far. It may be coming a full year late, but it's gonna have all the great extras, and a fantastic game is a fantastic game. The PS3 library can only benefit from this.

this game will flop, just like all 360 ex-exclusives.

Come on man a game like this dons't need multiplayer. If you buy games for multiplayer only your missing out.Games like this, Uncharted and GTA (even though it has Mult. Player) Dont need it cause it is able to run on story along by itself.Im reserving BioShock NOW Lol!!

If you haven't played the game then it is pretty good. I played it on PC only because my PC is superb to the PS3/360 in graphics. The PS3 version gets some exclusives and good downloadable content. Good game, hate the setting tho (1950's ... )

Does EVERY game this gen have to have online to be considered a worthy purchase? Some people's way of thinking worries me sometimes...

Honestly, if this game was a ps3 exclusive, would you be all " THIS GAME ROXX!!" or would you feel the same?

I feel the same way about the online issue. I for one could care less if a game has online play or not. From past experiences, there are a lot of immature and hightly obnoxious players out there on the net. Not always a bad thing by the way lol. I for one would much rather enjoy a game by myself without having to worry about what other people may be doing. I prefer the olden days of what was considered console multiplayer, multiple people passing the controllers around, enjoying the game as a group and taking turns challenging each other. Mario Kart and the Street Fighter tournament modes are prime examples. Case in point, games don't need to be online capable to be considered worthy of a purchase or playthrough. It may help prolong the lifespan of a given title, but overall, a great game doesn't require the little "online capable" label on the back of the case.

I played the demo on my bro's 360 and it was pretty nice. It really does a good job of setting the mood with all the creepy 50s music.

if all your doing is buying games for the online portionthen your only getting half the experience from playing the game. if a game has a fantastic story and awsome gameplay them im totally satisfied. besides what did we all do before we could play online with our consoles??? we beat the game until we were either bored or we got another one. online does add more depth but for me its the single player still.

I loved the PC version of it and I'm sure I'll love the PS3 version as well. Once I get used to using a gamepad to play it that is lol. And if people nowadays only buy and play games that can go online, then they are missing out on a whole collection of titles that is vastly superior in gameplay and not to mention in story. Final Fantasy comes to mind :) I've met more and more people recently who have bought games just to play online. THEY'VE NEVER EVEN TRIED THE SINGLE PLAYER MODE!!! If this trend is growing more and more, it makes me wonder if the single player mode will begin to fade from games altogether. And that will be a very sad day indeed :(

I'm going to place my preorder now. Also glad to see I'm not the only one who isn't so bothered about the online aspects. Offline is where the meaty gaming needs to be. Any online aspects should be a side dish not a main course.

I'm in total agreement with you there. Online should be a side dish.
This game kicks ass! I have the 360 version (one of only a handful of titles that I HAD to play on my bf's 360), but will definitely be getting this for the PS3. This is one of my favorite games, but I'm partial to the survival horror genre, especially when you get FPS with it. =)

I definitly wanna give this game a try. It didn't look all that exciting when I first saw it being released for the 360 but that might just be cuz I was in my "anti360 exclusive" games support phase lol. RENTING IT! So we'll see if its worth buying after

Was going to buy this for my PC,but now I'm going to buy it for my PS3. This game looks sweet I could give a crap less if it was on the 360 first. Life is to short to waste time hating on stupid things like gaming consoles. Also I agree with the posts about online components of games. The lack of an online component won't make or brake a game. Uncharted is an awesome game without an online component.

Comparing a solo campaign with a multiplayer one is like comparing apples and oranges. After finishing COD4 in solo, which by the way was amazing. I logged a ton of hours in its multiplayer. It is completely different. I didn't buy COD4 for multiplayer and as far as I'm concerned the solo campaign makes or breaks a game. If you want multiplayer then pick up SOCOM or Warhawk. If you want engrossing, excellent gameplay than pick up Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, or obviously Bioshock!

I agree with those who don't care about the online or lack therof. I don't play online much at all, nor have time for it, nor care that much to, nor have a real reason to (besides Madden sometime I guess maybe).
When playing adventure games like Uncharted or soon Bioshock, the main part (or WHOLE part) of the game is SOLO so who CARES if it's online or not?!?!?!? I want to try Bioshock finally for the action adventure aspect, which is SOLO...not get it to go online for some death match against kids that are online 24/7.

MAN I CAN'T WAIT FOR RESIDENT EVIL 5!!!
