Metal Gear Online World Championships Announced
By now, you should have been able to log plenty of hours playing Metal Gear Online. And if you're a true hardcore lover of MGO, you might just net yourself a free trip to Japan.
Yesterday, Konami and Major League Gaming announced that they've opened up registration for the impending Metal Gear Online World Championship. If you think you've got what it takes, you can head on over to the official site and sign up for a shot at taking on the best of the best. When most of the dust has settled, the top two teams from the North American Qualifier will visit the Tokyo Games Show for the final showdown against the greatest from Europe, Japan, and Asia. All winners will receive a piece of the prizes and $8,000 that's there for the taking. But you don't have much longer to decide; the North American Qualifier ends September 8, so you had best get a move on. And if you need a bit more time practicing, we suggest blocking out a large portion of your calendar right now.
Metal Gear Online had its fair share of problems when it first launched, but since then, Konami has worked to calm the servers down and according to most players, it's a much smoother experience these days. So now's a good time to kick off such a competition, isn't it?
