Reeves On Home: "Everything Is Absolutely On Track"
Some journalists found it strange that PlayStation Home didn't find its way into Sony's press conference at the Games Convention last week, but don't read too much into its absence.
As has been verified many times in the past few months, SCEE president David Reeves has once again confirmed that Home - in open beta form - will be available later this year. The only reason Home wasn't at Leipzig is quite simply because Sony had nothing new to say on the matter, and that's it. There's no ambiguity in Reeves' comments, as reported by the Videogaming247 blog:
"Everything is absolutely on track. I can look you in the eyes and tell you everything is on track. The closed beta has been expanding, the open beta will come in autumn. It will be announced by the Home Group, either in London or Tokyo. I dont know when exactly, but they are in control of it. Weve got more third parties on board, and as far as I know its all on track."
At the same time, Home producer Martijn Van Der Meulen reinforced those claims by saying the innovative online service has a "100% chance" of showing up in 2008. So don't you worry, Home followers, just because it wasn't at Leipzig doesn't mean Home is delayed again. The open beta, which will be "fully robust," is coming soon.

How do you sign up for the beta? I read on the PSN that you can sign up already, but haven't looked into it.
