EA/Take-Two Talks Go Into Hiding
You're probably sick of hearing about it, but you needn't worry: the next time any news arrives from either the EA or Take-Two camp, it'll be significant.
According to Reuters, EA has agreed via "regulatory filing with the SEC to not "make any further announcements regarding the status of any discussions or negotiations with Take-Two" until the two sides can strike a mutual agreement. Therefore, you won't be hearing any more updates on past deadlines, what John Riccitiello or Strauss Zelnick said in a recent statement, or the details on the latest buyout offer. Both EA and Take-Two have decided to take everything behind closed doors and out of the limelight, which will hopefully speed up this process. We've been talking about this since, what, February? EA isn't about to give up, and Take-Two isn't about to relinquish their company unless they see a number they'll accept, but in the end, something will have to give. Will EA come up with the cash to finish this thing off?
Well, it won't really matter which direction these talks go because the press likely won't be aware of it. Only leaked information will find its way to the forefront, and we're only going to accept official news when it comes to industry business. Hence, the EA/Take-Two thing is going to take a backseat until the conclusion arrives.

EA fails on so many levels, i feel the reason they keep losing customer faith is because they are becoming more of a corporate business then a game business. They are depersonalizing more and more and when you start to lose personal relationships and move toward a "paper relationship" it all just becomes shit. They are too focused on making money then they are providing a quality game.

Ok, reasons why we hate EA; buying out and destroying smaller companies, buying up franchises and releasing pathetic updates every couple of months to bleed fans dry, an evil plan to get rid of any ounce of innovation in the games industry. and that's just a few main points there.
Here is EA's formula for making an inovating game, 1. steal someone else's idea. 2. alter said idea a little, maybe by adding a twist stolen from another title. 3. release milk for all it's worth. 4. if all else fails, buy up all competition so that we don't have to make good games to have 100% of sales.

But in all honesty, besides the port problem, I really don't see God-awful games with EA's name on it. They publish a great many titles developed by other studios, and in the case of GTAIV, that would probably be just another game with EA's label on it. Rockstar will still handle development duties, yes? In general, while EA themselves has indeed recognized a quality lagging in the new generation, it's not like they're making horrid games. And they're certainly not publishing horrid games, either.
In reality, if someone says they'll never buy a game published by EA, they're almost guaranteed to miss out on must-play games in the future. That's just how I see it.

Skate is the perfect example of EA's games. It's Tony Hawk made to be "hip". Seriously, the instructional voice on that thing made me think of a 60 year old business man in a suit giving the thumbs up while saying "groovy". Then there's Rock Band. Oh, let's make Guitar Hero, give it a new name and add a couple of instruments. Really original.
Anything "new" that comes from EA will be done far better by someone else not long after....if it hasn't been already. personally, I'd rather wait a couple of months.

You are aware of who made the first 2 guitar hero games right? the same people who did rock star. Please tell me how they are copying GH3 if they laid the damn ground work for the first 2 highly popular games. Harmonix is the developer of those games with the exception of GH3 and afterwards. I'm not really defending EA either, its just that sometimes you cant let ignorance run rampant.
Battlefield Bad Company is another great game that so happens to have EA's name on it, but in your eyes i guess its a copy of CoD4. Nevermind the fact that DICE has a good track record ( DICE is the developer of that AND Mirror's Edge btw).
If you hate EA for what they have done to football games, i can understand that to a certain degree. But i swear, some of you guys would hate games you absolutely love if it even mentions EA somewhere on the game. Lovers of GTA4 would absolutely hate it only cuz of the EA name on it. Sad really....

But then again...we're hardly the only site to see it this way.

Meh, doesn't matter to me since GTAIV is the complete package. Really don't see a new GTA doing that great.
