Bioshock PS3 DLC Exclusive At Launch

Sure, PlayStation 3 owners are getting Bioshock a year late, but there are benefits to waiting. As you all know by now, the PS3 version will include all the downloadable content for the Xbox 360 and PC versions, plus a bunch of extra exclusive stuff to make the experience even more enjoyable. And if you want another little tidbit of info to lord over the 360 fans, here's one:

There may be 360-exclusive downloadable content for Grand Theft Auto IV, but PS3 owners will get similar treatment (at least at first) from 2K Games in regards to Bioshock. According to Videogamer, those special Challenge Rooms unveiled earlier will come only three days after the launch of the game on October 24 in the form of special DLC. It will also "supplement a new difficulty Survivor difficulty mode and Trophy support." The kicker? 2K's senior producer Melissa Miller says that for now, this stuff will remain exclusive to the PS3 version. Here's what she had to say at the Leipzig Games Convention last week:

"Right now we are supporting the PS3 launch. We are really excited to be bringing the BioShock experience to a whole new set of fans. We've been concentrating on ways to make this game special. The things that we've added, they're not changing the original experience that the 360 fans and the PC fans got, but are things that compliment nicely that experience."

And when asked if the DLC will come to the 360, Miller said, "the answer is no. Right now this is a PS3 exclusive." Okay, so Microsoft bought exclusivity on this awesome game, but it's clear now that 2K always meant for the game to come to the PS3, and now they want to reward owners for the long wait. Good enough for us; just get us that bad boy and we'll be happy.

Some of it is. The previous DLC for the 360/PC version is included on the disc, but this exclusive PS3 DLC isn't.

2K is showing some love for PS3 owners, and that's good. If the overall experience is better on PS3, I might rebuy this game.

Why couldn't they put the new PS3 exclusive stuff in with the disc? Not that I care or anything but the DLC comes out only 3 days after launch. Either way I'm buying the game that's for sure!

I may have had to wait for this game, but I totally respect and appreciate their approach towards the PS3 user base. This is a buyer for me and think other devs should take this approach weather it be for the 360 or PS3. I think devs should reward consumers for their patience.I applaud 2K!!!

I don't really like the look of this game. For me Far Cry 2 and Fallout 3 are much more appealling/realistic.

Not a purchase I'll make! Put me down for Resistance 2 though.

I seriously doubt it. That's the main appeal of Bioshock: the environment. Trust me, it's amazingly engrossing.

it's not realistic like crysis or cod4, but it is still a very complex and complete experience. It's like nothing else out there.

@Ghana Rudebwoy I think the metallic guy on the case you are referring to is a Big Daddy. It also was last years game of the year,so I would assume it's a pretty good game.

Every time i see someone doubting this game or hating on it, i can't help but chalk it up as a ps3 supporter harboring ill feelings towards this game cuz it hit 360 last year and was game of the year.

This game earned its title, i just hope some can let go of fanboyish ways ( no offense ) enough to actually try it out, i know its a first day buy for me after playing it quite a bit at my friend's house

Well said. Bioshock is an incredible game, and I'm seriously considering trading in my 360 version just so I have the excuse to buy the PS3 version and play it again. :)

That DLC sounds really boring though, it doesn't compare at all to the GTA4 DLC.

If they expanded the story with the DLC, then that would be a different story.

I just have one thing to say. GET THIS GAME. Even if you are bitter that it came out on 360 first, or for whatever reason, you shoud at least give it a try. Its really amazing.

I already beat mt 360 version twice to get the other ending and Savior achievement. I traded it already for pre-order on the PS3 version. A great game that will stay in my collection and is a definite MUST PLAY.

As I have said before, I will be buying this on launch. The 360 demo kept me entertained for multiple play throughs.
