Tekken 6 Won't Make It This Year?
Even though Tekken 6 officially has a "TBA 2008" release date, the game has all but disappeared from the public eye. Perhaps this is due to the overwhelming visibility of Street Fighter IV, which had prominent appearances at both E3 and the Leipzig Games Convention. But now, it seems the sixth installment of the long-running fighting franchise might not make it this year.
According to PSBeyond, the "Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion" upgrade was announced for the arcade version of the game. This is a great expansion that will toss in more stages, soundtracks, costumes, and even a few new characters. However, it won't hit the arcades until December, and considering Namco will want to implement these updates into the console version, Tekken 6 may likely not see the light of day until 2009. They just released Soul Calibur IV, so perhaps Namco is taking their time with their next fighter, although now, it seems the game may release at about the same time as Capcom's SFIV. Could we be looking at a clash of the titans in late February of next year? Or will Namco keep Tekken 6 in 2008, allowing gamers to add yet another title to their holiday wish list? We're not sure what the plan is - this is all speculation - but we'll keep a sharp eye out for official updates on the matter.
The fighting genre, which was once nearly flatlining in the industry, has experienced a resurrection that began with SCIV. With SFIV and Tekken 6 right around the corner, too, the new generation clearly has room for one of the original blockbuster genres.

they also should have never implemented the Rage system, hopefully that change that.
Although it would have been nice to try this game out, i would rather wait and play the game in its full version than to play T6 and knowing in my head at that very moment someone in japan is playing the newer, true version of it.
Sure they could release it on the ps3 in december and upgrade later, but i dont wanna have to pay extra

If im honest it dont have high hopes for it. i got bored of Tekken 5 once i unlocked all the characters, which is very unlike me i usually bash survival mode 1000 times not with Tekken 5. As for new characters i fully approve, the last new character that was interesting was way back on Tekken 3, & that was Bryan. Others have just been dodgy, like Raven, the Blade rip off who disappears into thin air so you cant hit him.
Also i didnt enjoy the revamped style of Tekken 5, especially the juggling they battered into the game. its just annoying when the CPU holds you in the air & keeps hitting until you reach the other side of the area. I heard on Tekken 6 you can hit opponents onto the ground and they'll bounce into the air for juggling attacks, this just makes it seem like a silly anime battle.
Though i must admit Tekken is the only fighting game i enjoy, & i'll deffinattly be buying it on the release date.

please post news about the new driver, i spoke to an employee as ubisoft tour thing and they said they didn't know that there had been anything in the works for a new driver. Which doesn't scare me too much because they are probable employed to say they work for ubisoft when they actually just sit and watch people look at new games

Truth is, this could have been out before SC4 but the gotta make arcade owners happy. Arcade owners were highly displeased that Tekken 5 came out on console so fast.

Hmmm, clash of the titans. This is a completely unbias opinion but Tekken is gonna beat Street Fighter. :)
