SOCOM: Confrontation European Release Details Discovered

SCEA has already revealed the release details for SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation, but now, it seems we have the European information as well.

According to European gaming site LivePlay3, the online military shooter will launch on October 17, which is only three days after the North American release. And if the translation is correct, the game will be available on both the PlayStation Store and on standard Blu-Ray disc; both versions will release on the 17th. The Store version and the Blu-Ray copy without the headset will retail for 39.00 Euros while the Blu-Ray version with the official Sony headset will carry a sticker price of 59.00 Euros. Also, Trophy support will - not surprisingly - be included, so all the release details seem to be mostly in line with the U.S. information. That's a good thing, too, because European gamers have been getting the short end of the stick with certain titles in past years. Although recently, the truly big-name games have enjoyed worldwide simultaneous releases. This isn't exactly simultaneous, but it's close.

Warhawk was the first truly great online-only experience for the PlayStation 3, but Confrontation could give it a run for its money. There are already plenty of SOCOM followers out there after the PS2 generation, so it has a leg up on the competition... Let's just hope it turns out to be a very worthy multiplayer extravaganza.

This is a must have for any Socom fan out there. And for newcomers should deliver a excellent online experience.

I'm super hyped for this game

I also really hope this game delivers. I mean, just focusing on the multiplayer is just awesome. Look how well Warhawk did! I just hope this trend continues...

I think this game will be unreal..but im undecided about the downloadable version..i mean you need a headset with this game in my opinion..its ok for people that have the original(s) but for newcomers i think the experience would be a flop without the headset.still 40euro seems sweet considering most new release games here are 50 to 60.

In this day and age, headsets are a must. I mean it's 2008! You MUST play Socom with a headset or you might get voted out anyways. There are a lot of Socom lovers out there ready to pounce! Look at how fun Battlefield Bad Company could be with mics. It's redonkulous that they don't have the mic issue fixed. It's a team-based game! I'll be giving back Battlefield for the Socom beta in a heartbeat. Frag away!!!
