Disney Joins LittleBigPlanet Mania?
If you hadn't noticed, LittleBigPlanet mania has spread throughout the gaming world (much to Sony's delight, we're sure). Nobody was shocked to see it pop up at the fifth annual Penny Arcade Expo on Labor Day weekend, and as one NeoGAF attendee discovered, Sony and Disney may make for an all-star duo when it comes to new content for LBP.
As you can see by this post over at the NeoGAF forums, it seems the PR representative showing off LBP at PAX dropped an interesting little tidbit of info: Disney will join the cascade of new content that's guaranteed to arrive for Media Molecule's promising co-op platformer. Oh yes, that's right; Mickeys and Donalds running around, Goofy dragging over a big ol' block so Pluto can jump up, etc, etc, etc. Considering the sheer amount of freedom in terms of customization, this may only be the beginning...how many other companies out there will want their lovable mascots bouncing around LittleBigPlanet? What about superheroes? You know, get Marvel and DC in there. Or how about real-life celebrities from the movie and music industries? The licensing involved in the special content could be absolutely out of control, but neither Sony or players are likely to complain.
Oh, and it seems we can expect InFamous in 2009, too, but that's not a big surprise. It's Disney sinking its far-reaching claws into LittleBigPlanet that caught our attention, so thanks to the NeoGAF crew for checking out PAX. However, in response to the defense of the standard NeoGAF stigma that the forum is full of fanboys and elitists...well, in some ways, that stigma is well deserved. Just admit it, guys. What you meant to say is that not all members are like that, right? ;)
