No Beta Or Release Details For PS3 Version Of World At War
EA has worked pretty hard in 2008 to regain the trust of PlayStation 3 owners, and in all honesty, they've done a pretty decent job. However, PS3 users may put another big publisher in their cross-hairs this holiday season.
Today, Treyarch and Activision announced both a release date and a public beta testing phase for their upcoming title, Call of Duty: World at War. However, they only confirmed the date and beta for the Xbox 360 and PC; those two platforms will see the beta in October, and the release date for the final game is November 11. Now, if you will remember last year, PS3 owners were left out of the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare beta, too, but we would've assumed that practice is old-fashioned. You know, designers have had another year to become accustomed to the intricate PS3 architecture, so what's the deal? Why aren't PS3 owners involved in the beta, and perhaps more importantly, without an official release date, does this mean the PS3 version is behind schedule? If true, this will not be received well by owners of Sony's next-gen machine...
According to MTV Multiplayer, Activision will only say that beta and release details for the PS3 version are yet to come. We have no idea if we'll get access to the beta, nor do we know if that November 11 release date will prove true for the PS3. Stay tuned.

It's like they're dumb enough to assume it will be the same as xbox.. Oh well, prepare for another really poor server quality Call of Duty guys.. Even more reason for me NOT to buy it.

In the 360 they have Gears 2 and... ok they have Gears 2. COD5, I think, has a better future in MS machine than in Sony's.

If I have to wait a little longer to have a much better game in the end than I could have had with another console, then brovo Activision for working hard for the PS3 community.
