Dead Space Pushed Up Again

Well, this is certainly a nice change of pace. When a release date changes, it usually changes to a later date; delays are a common occurrence in this industry. But it's a rare pleasure to see a promising title steadily rising up the calendar. Even if we are only talking about a week.

According to Gamernode, EA has just announced that Dead Space has popped forward a bit; previously scheduled to release on October 21, it will now arrive for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 14 (the PC version still drops on the 21st). And actually, if you trace back the release date history, the original launch date was October 31, so this bad boy keeps inching closer and closer. We've been hearing nothing but good things about Dead Space, and we're awfully intrigued by the premise: some like to call it Resident Evil in outer space. You know how the original Alien movie was more about tension, atmosphere and thrill-a-licious moments? Well, while you can expect a good deal more gore in EA's project, what we're most looking forward to is that engaging, immersive environment. With the power afforded by next-gen hardware, we should be seeing more of this in the coming years.

Anyway, if you're looking for something to play before the blockbusters in Resistance 2 and Gears of War 2 hit in November, Dead Space might be a heck of a good option. Besides, we have to wait until 2009 for Resident Evil 5, so fans of freakiness should keep a sharp eye...

Actually more on the lines of LBP, Dead Space, Fallout, etc. LBP, Dead Space, Fallout, etc. and so on and so forth. This is going to be a great end of the year for gaming and a very empty pocket for the gamers...

I think the date change with this game is a pretty smart move by EA. I mean look at the lineup on October 21. Not all games are triple A title but a lot of the games are.

BioShock
Eternal Sonata
Far Cry 2
Hei$t
LittleBigPlanet
Spider-Man: Web of Shadows
Fable II
Vampyre Story, A
EverQuest: Seeds of Destruction
7 Wonders III

This game hasn't really caught my interest yet. It could be because of some of the videos, I don't know. Just an opinion but it looks very repetitive and the environments also look very repetitive. I hope I'm wrong tho because I sure could use a horror/survival game b4 RE5!

This is good news my friends! It looks brutal and maybe even frightening perhaps? I have my fingers crossed on this one, I have been following this one for awhile. It could seem repetitive but all the brutality might take away from that. They are trying to make this a truly scary experience. But to honest, the replay value factor on this one.......? I have to get Fallout 3 Dead Space and LBP all the same month?

Looks tight, I just hope this title doesn't use the OLD Resident Evil style controls, I do not enjoy controlling a human being that moves like a Tank on an NES war game.

Hey Ben, when you played the demo of this game, which version did you play? If PS3, how was it? Any graphically problems? Did the controls suck? Etc.
