Far Cry 2 Release Date Announced, Collectors Edition Detailed
As if you didn't already have enough games on your wish list for this holiday season, Ubisoft is gonna force you to add another one, as Far Cry 2 has been officially dated.
According to GameSpot, the more vague "October 2008" release date has now been solidified into October 21, when the highly anticipated sequel will hit store shelves for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. European gamers will only have to wait three days more to get their shot at the atmospheric FPS, and both regions will get the special Collectors Edition. This package will include the standard stuff; an "Art of Far Cry 2" book, a behind-the-scenes "Making Of" DVD, a guide book, and a full map of the Far Cry 2 landscape. If you're in Europe, you'll only be able to nab the Collectors Edition if you use retailer GAME, and in the U.S., we imagine it'd be a good bet that GameStop will have the Collectors, although it hasn't been confirmed just yet. Based on the October 21 date, Far Cry 2 will compete with LittleBigPlanet, but will have the benefit of beating Resistance 2 and Gears of War 2 to retailers.
It's certainly primed to be one of the top titles of the year, so all fans of the genre should be excited. The original was one of the most critically acclaimed shooters of the previous generation, so expectations are high for the sequel.

its meant to be the game that isnt possible on 'normal' PC's.. the game that should make us drop to our knees through the graphics and gameplay.
personally I havent seen that through the vid clips.. but I love FPS's and 99% sure I will pick this up.
