GameStop Unaware Of Resistance 2 Pre-Order Beta Codes?

We learned quite some time ago that Insomniac would be offering multiple ways for eager users to secure a spot in the upcoming Resistance 2 beta. One of the ways is simple: pre-order the game from GameStop. Well...did someone forget to tell the retailer?

After visiting several GameStops in the area and placing calls to a half-dozen others, we have yet to locate a GameStop who has the beta codes currently available for anyone who has pre-ordered Resistance 2. But perhaps most distressing of all is the fact that none of them have even heard of this; many employees have said, "No, I don't know anything about it." Now, it could just be that Insomniac hasn't handed out the beta codes to GameStop yet, but wouldn't you think the retailer would be aware of the impending promotion? Sure, GameStop seems to be populated with more clueless register biscuits than usual, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't have up-to-date information. Those who have pre-ordered Resistance 2 and walked away without a beta code - or any details concerning the beta - have been confused. After all, they probably just got off the Internet after reading up on how to get into that beta, and GameStop appears dazed and confused.

All we'd like to know is this: do any GameStops in your area have these beta codes? And if not, do they at least know they're coming? This beta should be kicking off next month, so it's not like we can just wait on our coattails and hope. We'd like to know what the deal is...right now.

I think the better question is why do Developers/publishers keep leaving things like this in the incompetent hands of GameStop/EbGames

gamestop i go to fu**ing sucks. only 2 or 3 employees know WTF i'm talking about, the others? "basketball? YEA MAN YEA" or "XBOX? SWEET DEAL MAN!" ... like WTF? I'm a fu**ing customer, I don't deal 360 RoDD information, I'm a PS3 fan, I need PS3 games, I need info, you need to give me what I need. Guess what? they didn't know about Kratos being on LBP when they had a GIANT POSTER hooked up to the ceiling grabbing everyone's attention in the store ... How .... no, I'll save it.

ALL the gamestops I go to are like that. I know more about what they do than they do, and it hurts to listen to them talk about video games in general. I swear if I heard the whole "Sony's never won a format war" argument against the PS3 one more time, I was going to hit someone. It took everything in my power to not point out to these guys right in the middle of their, "no, you don't wanna buy that, you wanna buy a 360 'cause it has TEH HALO" rant to tell them that, y'know, Sony developed the CD and that went over pretty well, and they played a decent sized role in the development of the DVD which has become a standard format, much like the CD, which is also the format that Microsoft clung themselves to for their "next generation" console. These guys are completely biased, piss poor sales men, and don't know much about what it is they're selling. It's frustrating.

why do ps3 users still flock to gamestop outlets when they've clearly expressed their hatered for sony? i had preordered LBP but when the guy said he knows nothing about resistance 2 igt pissed off n cancelled my preorder

oh wow, .... that really sucks. i'm actually going to a diff gamestop that have good employees and they know tons of stuff about games, i might even go to Fay to pre-order my damn games ...

when i pre-ordered my copy at gamestop a couple weeks ago, the guy told me to just keep checking in for the beta codes. so that gamestop must have known about it.

still the same as when i emailed you ben =\ not a thing, but this time i did remember to get my kratos dlc for lbo haha and i upgraded to collectors ediion =D woot, lol but when i went to add 20$ to my naruto ultimate ninja storm pre-order they canceled my old pre-order and then made a new one for 20$ i didn't notice it on the reciept till i was going home =\

I work at gamestop and, they have not told us anything about resistance pre orders. We have the Kratos costume for LBP, but no resistance beta codes. The only reason I know about it is because me and the people at my store pay attention to stuff like that. But I've heard nothing from corperate. Has gamestop talked to the press about this???

For most gamestops, I reccomend you talk to the manager about stuff like that, because they will hire morons.

i signed up to say that i got mine emailed yesterday to me. I registered it online on the myresistance site and it worked. Now i just have to wait till the public beta...

i ordered it on gamestop.com

they say that it will be emailed to you. i have to go back now and give them my email so i get my code. check Gamestop.com

Hell I work at Gamestop and have reserved Resistance 2 myself and I still don't know anything about. Im sure the stores will get them after this week though, the store managers are off at Conference getting to play all these new games, and that's probably when you will hear about them in stores. Im glad I reserved the Limited Edition it looks awesome.
