Infamous Looking Good, Developer Praises PlayStation 3
The more developers spend time with the PlayStation 3, the more they return to the media, explaining how impressed they are with the machine's capability. Earlier in the system's lifespan, there was a whole lot of complaining (as usual), but with time has come satisfaction and excitement on the part of designers.
Take, for example, Sucker Punch game director Nate Fox, who recently spoke to VideoGamer.com at last month's Leipzig Games Convention. The studio clearly loves the PS3, as they've been working on Infamous and have nothing but good things to say. Sucker Punch delivered the accomplished and relatively popular Sly Cooper titles for the PS2 last generation, but with Sony's new console, the team seeks to take advantage of all that added power. Said Fox:
"It's great to have that much more detail in the world. You have a lot more characters running around, particle effects. Everything you want, more, more, more, the hardware can take it. I think you can see it. The graphic quality of the game is really, really strong."
Quantic Dream's Heavy Rain seems to be hogging the spotlight for 2009 thus far, and most every gamer on earth is well aware of titles like God of War 3 and Killzone 2. But don't forget about another 2009 project that should turn a few heads; Infamous is yet another PS3 exclusive that could entice more undecideds to purchase the console. We can't wait for more information on the game, and we expect to see more details come our way over the next few months. Stay tuned.
