Resistance 2 Beta Applications Ready

We're still slogging our way through the whole GameStop/Resistance 2 beta fiasco - the retailer still seems unsure of the process - but at the very least, we do know the official application process has begun.

Instead of pre-ordering, you can head over to BetaMyResistance.net and apply for a position in the upcoming beta test, which kicks off later this month. The typical rules apply; you need a PlayStation 3 with an Internet connection, you need to have a Network account, and of course, you need to be 18 years of age or older. You will be notified via e-mail if you've been accepted into the beta, and Insomniac reminds you that "space is limited," so you had best get a move on. Remember, this multiplayer beta is going to be the exact opposite of "barebones;" we'll be able to sample the 8-player co-op mode along with the highly anticipated 60-player multiplayer scenarios! It takes no time and effort at all to apply for the beta, so unless you've already pre-ordered the game, there's no excuse to ignore this opportunity. Well, unless you don't like great games, or something.

As for GameStop, we've heard that those who have pre-ordered Resistance 2 online have indeed received their beta code via e-mail. However, the brick and mortar stores still seem out of the loop, so we'll have to hope they can figure it out...fast.

I'm wondering the same thing. Will it be like the Socom beta where Qore subscribers get the beta a week or 2 later then everyone else?

Wait, so reserving a copy with GameStop online GUARANTEES me a spot in the beta?

I mean, if it does, it doesn't take a genius to pre-order, get the beta code, then cancel the order since they can't charge you until the game actually ships. I'm gonna try it.

Yeah, but they say the email with the beta code goes out 2 business days after you put in the pre-order. They can't actually ship the game until it releases in...December?

From what I've heard, Qore members can already access the beta through Episode 3.

I haven't verified it yet, but I will as soon as I get home and re-download it. I deleted it cause that episode really sucked.

Can't wait to play it tomorrow, cause I know the server for the beta download is going to be slow.

I am a annual Qore subscriber and it says when I registered a month ago that I am not in the on-line beta(yet). So your assumptions about Qore aren't accurate. Supposedly, the pre-order guys get the drop on the Beta first and then the Qore subscribers the following week, then the regular Joe's who apply after that.

I didn't pre-order the game and I'm not a Qore subscriber AND I never signed up for the beta but I'm still in. I guess I'm just lucky! Can't wait to give it a try.

This game is going to rock. But does anyone know if it has split screen online? Coz i meet up with two friends every week to play games and i tihnk this would be a class title to have split screen online. Thanks!

I hope so, but split screen gaming seems to be disappearing, and that sucks. I guess developers don't figure gamers have real friends any more. I was so ticked that UT3 didn't have split-screen (for PS3, at least).

the MGO beta was open to everyone, its not dumb, it'll give them more accurate details, which is the point of a beta, to test it out
