FIFA 09 Demo Coming Tomorrow

Another week, another PlayStation Store update. Tomorrow, soccer fans in both Europe and North America will get the chance to sample this year's FIFA installment, and those of you who enjoyed Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 should definitely give it a try.

We've been hearing nothing but good things in regards to FIFA 09, and it wouldn't surprise anyone to learn that this is EA's finest sports game of the year. Granted, many soccer sim fans have already turned to the competing PES series, but EA has plenty of surprises in store for their effort. Those of you who really know a lot about the sport should weigh in on that demo tomorrow, and there's a recommendation found at XenonX for PES lovers: the say that if you want the "true FIFA experience," turn the passing assists to "Manual" and the shooting assists to "Semi." As we have yet to play the game, we're not entirely sure how this affects the gameplay, but we're certain such alterations can be (and are) significant. This demo is free, of course, and it'll give you a great idea of just how far this particular series has come over the past five years or so.

FIFA 09 will release on October 3, and if you're still on the fence concerning a purchase, this demo is just the ticket. And hey, if you have some strong opinions on it, be sure to post your thoughts in the forums; this is guaranteed to be one of the biggest international hits of 2009.

no matter what spin they put on it, FIFA never beats pro, every yr they make updates etc and they alwayz have the better graphics and more polish, which is normally important, esp in this day in age, but in football games, it never has been... its all about gameplay, and PES wins yr in yr out. will still be worth having a look at the demo but as with every yr, PES will still out sell fifa this yr.

sorry to burst your bubble cavan but that is a matter of opinion

pes 08 was crap compared to fifa 08. I have both games and have bought both games for pro evo and fifa since they started selling.

imo fifa is a stride better because of the franchises they own. while pro
evo has all simulated teams except for spain, italy and other teams.
I mean cmon the premier league is all made up and personally i don't like
their experience meters in pro evo. or their layout. I do however love to custom my team in custom mode and add the team crest with my ps eye... I'm not dissin on evo or praising fifa i love both games to death but in my humble opinion fifa is better just by a smidge or tad or pinch whichever comes closer.... buying fifa 09 and pro evo 09 on day 1. love football (soccer for morons out there)
