Resistance 2 "Just About Finished"

It's #1 on our most anticipated PS3 holiday list, and in case you were concerned it might not hit its November release date, stop worrying. Insomniac doesn't miss deadlines (well, it's rare, at any rate), and now we have learned that Resistance 2 is inching closer to the finish line.

According to a recent GameSpot Q&A with Insomniac president and CEO Ted Price, the hotly anticipated FPS is nearly complete, and we couldn't be happier. In Price's own words, he said "the game is just about finished," and that the team will be using the final month to fine-tune the last little details. He added that this aspect of the development process is "always the most difficult" but they're not about to "cut any corners." This is great news, because we can't count how many games we've played where, upon finishing, we said- "gee, another few weeks to iron out the small flaws, and this one would've been amongst the elite." In this industry, the truly amazing titles separate themselves from the rest of the pack by going that extra mile; by going to the lengths the merely "good" titles ignore. Of course, budget and time factor into such things, so we don't expect all studios to produce a Resistance 2, but this is the way things are.

Resistance 2 will likely clash with Gears of War 2, but that shouldn't be considered a problem. Two fantastic games; play 'em both. By now, you probably should have both the PS3 and Xbox 360, although we do have to admit it's currently more beneficial to own the PS3. We think that's fair, don't you?

Don't you think it's worth reporting that the dark knight game was just announced for only cell phones and not shitbox or ps3

@Rocketman: For the average consumer, who doesn't know an hdd from hdmi, ps3 is the cheaper deal in the long run, for a comparable gaming experience, and therefore, more benefical. To someone aware of the industry, they know the 360 is closer to the end of it's lifetime, while the ps3 is just beginning to thrive, hence it is more beneficial. For the young professional, who only has enough time for casual gaming, and wants to see hd movies on a hdtv, then ofcourse, ps3 is more beneficial. But if money isn't too tight, then get both. Why miss out on any awesome title?

I'm actually more interested in Resistance 2 than Gears 2. Why? Because R2 seems to evolved more significantly from it's predecessor while Gears 2 just seems more of the same thing (which isn't a bad thing at all).

I can't get into Resistance 2. I may just be burnt out on FPS's but I really liked R:FoM better. I've only played CoD 4 for about 5 minutes before. I had more fun in those 5 minutes than I have in my 2 days or so of Resistance 2. It's off my radar. Just my opinion though.

it will take alot to get me to stop playing Cod4 mulitplayer. I hope KZ2 will be the one to do it. Ive never played the first Resistance because I bought A PS3 the day COD4 came out and got hooked on it. I think ill pick it up next paycheck now that the greatest hits are out.
