Bikes Roll Into Paradise This Week

You knew they were coming, but you didn't know exactly when until now.

Developer Criterion Games has officially announced that its next free update - yup, the one that includes motorcycles - will come to the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace this Thursday, September 18. They renamed it the "Bikes Pack" rather than the formerly titled Davis update, and it adds two motorcycles, the option of a male or female rider, day/night events, license progression for the new vehicles, changing weather conditions and 70 new Freeburn challenges. How's that for an update that's free? Criterion clearly wants you to keep playing Paradise; they're also planning to bring the full game, loaded with all the current updates, to the PSN later this year. It'll come for half the original price ($29.99), and it could start a new trend of originally Blu-Ray-format games going digital at some point down the road... As for more content, the team has actually been considering airplanes, although we haven't the slightest idea how that might work.

So if you're a racing fan, you probably already own this top-notch arcade racer, and this Bikes Pack is a definite must. And because it's free, there's not a darn thing stopping you, right?

Can't wait. This is such a fun game, and now we will have motorcycles added to the mix. And if you did not notice in the article the updates are FREE.

Well, the pricing theory of waiting a few months for selective titles is paying off for me, permitting me to get an extra game due to the savings through the price drops... I think I will get this at 29 dollars... the right price level indeed..

I'm a bit tempted to get this game now that it has motorcycles in it. But like Qubex said, I'm going to wait for the price drop.

yeh, its sad they took that away.

on another note.. remember the whole reason they gave about not having 'drivers' in the cars in Burnout Paradise?

well, we got bikes now with riders! so does that make their point.. pointless?

Can't wait for this, should be exciting. Oh and on the CrashFM Podcast they show footage of plane models flying in-game over the city, I really think that planes will be coming too.

Don't believe me? Then check out the podcast!

I'm just wondering, having a sandbox game like gta4, and mustbuy racers such as wohd and ms:pf, is paradise city still worthy of purchase?

I had all the Burnout's previous to this but seeing the price drop and Criteron's willingness to improve the game for FREE has made me think about getting this game. I didn't massivly enjoy the demo but like I said I may well now and get this game.
