Hands Slipping On Your Controller? No Sweat!
You know how those sweaty palms can directly impact success in your favorite game? When things are getting a little dicey, you're backed into a corner, and you desperately attempt to save that last scrap of health without using the item...? Yup, that's exactly what Logitech was thinking when they set out to design their new anti-sweat controller. No, really.
Logitech, or Logicool, as it's known in Japan, is currently making the "antiperspirant controller" for the PS3, and it should be available to PS3 owners soon after the Japanese launch. They've set a target release date of December 7, and there is no word yet on whether or not it will see a U.S. release. Dubbed the Game Controller Chill Stream, it sports a built-in fan that cools your hand down as you play. This mini comfort device can be set to Low or High.
The controller also boasts a D-pad with easier-to-push buttons for a softer grip, but the primary selling points focuses on that little fan. And strangely enough, the Chill Stream should retail for the relatively low price of 4,480 yen (about $38), which is less than the 5,000 yen price tag affixed to the Sixaxis controller. Even though it may not make it to the States, those afflicted with overactive sweat glands can import the new controller in either black or silver.
