Bioshock PS3 Just Like Bioshock 360
Here's a general rule of thumb: if a multiplatform game is developed simultaneously with the appropriate dedicated time for each console, the final result for each console will be nigh-on identical. However, if the game is developed entirely on one console and then ported to another at a later date, the ported version is almost never as good. On the surface, this rule means bad news for Bioshock PS3, which releases next month.
But have no fear, PS3 owners. Unlike the situation facing most other Xbox 360-PS3 ports, 2K Games had always planned to bring this game to Sony's platform, and they've actually worked hard all year to make the experience no less thrilling for PS3 users. To cement this point, the MTV Multiplayer blog said that Bioshock on the PS3 feels exactly like Bioshock on the 360, and that's most certainly not a bad thing. Furthermore, with the added content - Trophies, Survivor difficulty mode, the new puzzle rooms, etc. - this means the PS3 version should be the best option available for all those who have yet to play this stellar title. Thankfully, we won't be sacrificing technical accomplishment for bonus goodies, which is what some were initially concerned about. Don't worry; 2K won't let us down, and we appreciate the work they've done to keep Bioshock as fantastic as it was last year.
Essentially, it all boils down to this- in the MTV article, the author said that after playing the PS3 version, "all it did was make me want to play Bioshock again." And in reality, that's all we can really ask for. Can't wait!

I will not reward 2K, or any other developer, for delivering the same product, a year after it's originally launched. I expect more from a $60 game, OR, I expect it to cost less. Hopefully, there are others who feel the same, and act in kind, and eventually, the losses these companies will accrue, will change their business practices.

Bioshock was a great title for the 360, good gameplay value, and doing a Ps3 version was a no brainer. I predict it will shift a minimum of a million copies, probably more, and satisfy many Ps3 owners out there. For me personally though, I will save the money for a few upcoming titles I want like CODV, World At War and Killzone 2 at the very least. LBP and GT5 are still so so with regards to what I want to spend my money on first...
Also MornelitheVT, I don't think it is wise to talk about piracy and modding on this comments forum, this is a legitimate site, I am sure the mods here would appreciate it if we keep clean and legal. Right Ben?

@ Aftab - Agreed.
@ Qubex - I will partake in any argument I feel strongly enough about. Thus is the case here. As for money et al, I usually have games preordered months in advance. Have had SFIV preordered since July. Resistance 2, since last month. Had MGS4 preordered for many months. etc... I pay out the nose for collector's editions, and so on. So, I put plenty into the industry. In fact, I'm also a Beta tester for Home and SOCOM: Confrontation. How 'bout all of you?
Go ahead and Ban me if you think what I said was un-wise, or against the terms of these blogs. I didn't iterate how it was modded (because I didn't do it), nor where to find instructions on how to mod it. Nor did I indicate where such things would be available for download. I merely mentioned, what I would do, should I desire to play Bioshock, as it will never touch my PS3.

goes to show if you put time in both consoles, their actually abilities are distinctly brought forward.

Second of all, there's nothing wrong with Mornelithe's comments; his opinions or his own. However, I will say that you're not quite understanding the difference between a multiplatform owner and someone who only owns a PS3. The situation is very different for them, and it has nothing to do with when the game came out. It's new to PS3 owners, and that's that.
And for the record, 2K is in business to make money...as are all businesses. They've done nothing wrong as far as I can see.

As for the game not having enough stuff packed with it after being released an entire year later, what else would you possibly want?? Some jumbled crap they put together that doesn't fit the game at all just for that sake? C'mon people, no reason to be negative over Bioshock coming onto the PS3!

Sorry for the Blog comment, my bad. Will correct my terminology in the future. But, my overall point is, a game that launches a year later, and is the same exact thing that was put out the prior year, is a waste of my time.

Beyond that, the 'extra' content, seems to be pretty modest, from what's been revealed. It will have all of the current DLC that the 360 has, and trophy support...which is exactly the same as the 360 achievements. Again, nothing really done that shows me a $60 game in Q3 2008. Maybe Q1. But not after MGS4.

However I was kinda hoping there'd be more stuff on the PS3 bioshock (already have it for 360 and would have bought it again for extra stuff) The 360 was awesome it was extremely atmospheric and scary for anyone who likes a game with a twisty clever plot and great graphics cool characters (big daddy is pretty awesome) and a creepy atmosphere get this game actually just get the game anyway it is one of the best titles released and if you haven't already got it on 360 definately get it for you PS3.

People who own both systems, who dont want year old ports, even if they are identical, dont like this situation because they have either played it, or can get it cheaper. Thats are fair point.
For people who own just a playstation, this is a new oppurtunity, a new game to play which they never had a chance to before. This to me is worthwhile for these gamers. Even if timed exclusives become a more popular thing to do, you are still getting to play the game. If it is exactly the same quality, and not worse, AND there is extra content, what is there to moan about? Yes, the fact that ps3 owners are getting it late can, and is, annoying, some ps3 owners are grateful.
To sum it up, people who have never had the oppurtunity to play this game now can, and that can be only good. Okay, some of you guys can get it cheaper, or whatever. But better this than not at all.
