Konami Reveals Holiday Lineup
While it's true that Konami's biggest 2008 title has already arrived - Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots - the publisher still has plenty of top titles ready and rarin' to go for a holiday release.
They have revealed their official list of late 2008/early 2009 titles, and it includes some very intriguing games. Not only will the uber-popular Dance Dance Revolution franchise continue on multiple platforms, but we'll also get Konami's other music-based effort, Rock Revolution. Many expect it to offer major competition for the likes of Guitar Hero and Rock Band, although these days, that's quite a tall order. Here's the list:
- Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia (DS, October 21, 2008)
- Castlevania: Judgment (Wii, Fall 2008)
- Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 (PS3, Xbox 360, PSP, PC, November 11, 2008)
- DanceDanceRevolution Hottest Party 2 (Wii, September 16, 2008)
- DanceDanceRevolution Universe 3 (Xbox 360, October 2008)
- DanceDanceRevolution X (PS2, September 16, 2008)
- Rock Revolution (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS, Fall 2008)
- Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol Encore 2 (Xbox 360, Wii, Winter 2008)
- Winx Club: Mission Enchantix (DS, November 4, 2008)
- Lost in Blue Shipwrecked (Wii, September 23, 2008)
- Silent Hill: Homecoming (PS3, Xbox 360, September 30, 2008)
- Elebits: Adventures of Kai and Zero (DS, Q1 2009)
Obviously, Konami is showing Nintendo a lot of love, but arguably the two biggest titles on the list are coming to the PS3 and Xbox 360. We certainly can't wait for Silent Hill: Homecoming, and in all honesty, it may be one of the most overlooked games of 2008. Have we all forgotten just how good previous installments have been...? With Resident Evil 5 still a ways off, Homecoming should be a great pick for survival/horror fans.

Still waiting for a true console follow-up to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Those 3-D efforts were kind of horrendous. The Gameboy has been getting a lot of good ones.
Very looking forward to Silent Hill. It's still one of the creepiest series around only matched, in my opinion, by Fatal Frame.
I don't see anything else on this list that really screams out, "BUY ME!" Would like to see them bring back some of their older projects such as: Policenaughts, Snatcher, Silent Scope, Vandal Hearts, Salamander, and one of my favorite fighting games, Martial Champion.

No DDR Universe for PS3? Thats strange. Its only on the 360. I would assume thats a big game and PS3 is getting ignored.
Not looking forward to SH though. Im a fan of the first 3 but Konami is not developing it and thats the first mistake of a big list. I'll pick up dead space instead thank you.
