Level 5 Has "Shocking Announcements" Coming Next Week

Much to every RPG fan's delight, it was revealed yesterday that White Knight Chronicles would release on December 25 in Japan. We're waiting for any news of a North American and/or European release date, but perhaps that information isn't far off...

According to Gamekyo, Level 5 has revealed in the latest edition of Famitsu magazine that they're planning a major press conference for next week. Called "Level 5 Vision 2008," it's going to take place on September 26, and there's one statement from the developer: "A game revolution is beginning [] Wait for shocking announcements from Level-5!" Okay, that's probably standard melodrama, and we have a bad feeling these "shocking announcements" probably revolve around Nintendo platforms, but we'll stay hopeful for now. Most likely, this is when WKC will get officially unveiled and announced for the holidays, and if we're lucky, they'll give us a release date for other regions as well. Then again, perhaps they'll also talk about something entirely new; something the media isn't aware of just yet...any ideas? A whole new RPG for the PSP? And instead of bringing DQ back to the DS again, how about making Dragon Quest X for the PS3? A whole lot of people adored DQVIII on the PS2, you know...

Either way, we'll be on the sharp lookout for Level 5 news on September 26, and we're crossing our fingers for positive developments. Is anyone else starting to think teams like Level 5 and Atlus will serve PS3 owners the way Squaresoft and Square-Enix has served Sony fans in the past?

Hopefully this will be good news and not, "We've decided to try to expand westward." I doubt it considering how traditional that company is but you never know. Let's just hear that release date.

Hope it's something good

That's what came to my mind. I heard Microsoft also has some "big" announcements next week. Though I certainly hope they don't go multiplatform. I do hate it when companies like Microsoft throw money around to get their way. But maybe that's just my sense of fair-play speaking out in favour of the underdogs (Sony this time around).

I hope it is a Europe and U.S release date. If it is released some time before in North America I will have to import it.

Dragon Quest is owned by Square Enix, so news on that game would probably come from them.

Then there is Dark Cloud 3, I have DC 1

I have a feeling they are going to announce WKC will be a single player RPG that boasts an online MMORPG feature. That would be a step towards a gaming revolution in the RPG market.

That would not be a "gaming revolution" at all, as PSU and PSO already acheived that.

Square hasn't been impressive with their rpgs in quite awhile...well thats debateable. So yanno what? I'm not scared to embrace another company and give them their shot at dethroning Square!

Come on LEVEL 5!!!

I would think this would have to do with the revolutionary feature that has been unannounced. I don't believe this will go multi-platform, and I doubt it is as of yet about Dark Cloud 3. Although they did say it was a future goal a while back.
