Early LittleBigPlanet Beta Details

Everyone loves to talk about the upcoming Resistance 2 beta test, but let's not forget about the other top-quality PlayStation 3 exclusive title.

According to European gaming site PS3-Sense, we now have the first details for the LittleBigPlanet beta. However, as these aren't official in any way, we can't label them as "verifiable fact" just yet, so bear all that in mind. Anyway, it seems there are going to be 60,000 total invites sent out to each major region - North America, Europe and Japan - with an even 20,000 invites for each. Evidently, beta applications have already been sent out to Japanese gamers, and they have one week to sign up. We don't know about North America and Europe, but supposedly, the beta test will begin for everyone on September 29 and will run through October 12. Both the Story Mode and the Create Mode will be available for play, although we can't assume the latter will be as fully robust as it'll be in the final retail version. Yes, we understand you impatient SackBoy fans want a shot at this beta, but don't worry: if it really does start on the 29th, those details can't be far off.

We'll keep you posted on this, and whenever we find the application info for North America and Europe, we'll be sure to let you know. But with only 20,000, space is definitely limited so make sure you leap at the first opportunity!

From what i know, they're doing what they did with the home beta; Download a theme = Enter the comp.

Hmm, 60K invites is a fair amount I have to say... Do I have to go to the LBP website to sign up?

Its getting silly, because that doesn't achieve much... People will just get upset that they cannot get on... to be honest, this Beta programme seems to be unfair to some degree... it does alienate alot of slobbering fans out there who can't get their teeth into a beta... poor bastards! The only Beta I wish I could have entered was for "Home"...

Keep on dream'n... in California!

The download a theme sign up idea sucks, we in the UK never got the Home theme.

If one of you gets the Beta, I'm coming over your house to sleep over. I have my pillow and money, of course. Just squeeze me in a box, let me play the game at your house, and I'll do the house work for you .. I can't cook tho' =(

I actually hate this beta crap. Beta testers should be from the company. Why ruin the fun of getting it all on the same day?

For Home, I think it is good to have, buy yeah I also do think that releasing beta's just takes all of the excitement away when the game actually ships.
