GameStop Issues Resistance 2 Pre-Order Beta Details...Finally

Well, look who finally arrived late to the party. At least they brought a gift with them, in the form of dates that hadn't been completely clarified until now (so far as we know).

Insomniac revealed some time ago that anybody who wished to secure a spot in the upcoming Resistance 2 beta test had several options open to them: they could purchase a yearly subscription to Qore (or they could just buy Episode 3), or they could pre-order the game with GameStop. Upon doing the latter, they would receive a beta code in their e-mail inboxes. However, for quite a while after this announcement, GameStop stores seemed unaware of this deal, and only those who pre-ordered online saw their beta codes. Now, though, the brick-and-mortar stores should be up to speed, as evidenced by this online listing. As you can see, it outlines the pre-order beta details, and all you should have to do is provide your e-mail address when you stop by GameStop to pre-purchase Resistance 2. Okay, so now this should work.

And here's the bonus: it seems we're now aware of the exact dates of the Resistance 2 beta testing: it will run from October 6 through October 30. So if you haven't gotten your beta code already, it's time to get moving, Mr. Hale.

Sorry to disappoint you. But I received an email from them and they said that unfortunately the beta will not be starting on October 6 like previously thought. So October 6 is no longer the start date. It will be a later date. Here is what the email states

" Dear GameStop/EB Games Customer,

We have been notified by the publisher that the Resistance 2 beta will not begin on October 6.

The beta is still scheduled to start in early October and we keep you informed when the start date is confirmed.

whatever happened to confirming your plans with another person?

this brouhaha could've all been avoided if Sony called up Gamestop HQ and was like "

-Hey, just calling to make sure that the whole Resistance 2 thingy is goin on"

-"Whoa dude, thanks for calling. I TOTALLY spaced that off"

Haha we did get the Beta papers in our distro today, but Im a Qore user, so Im not really concerned with those. I just want the damn game already.

I guess you could try calling them again. I can pretty much say that if my store got them in yesterday that all Gamestop stores should have them in by now. If not then I'll just try and get you one myself, I have the game reserved and I have Qore, so I can get another copy, just let me know.

Damn, does anyone know if the preorders get the beta before the qore users? I just preordered resistance 2 through amazon not gamestop. They give you a free multiplayer skin for pre-ordering but I might rather get the beta earlier.
