LittleBigPlanet Achieves Gold Status

The release date has been solidified for some time now, but nothing is ever certain until the game goes Gold. Well, welcome to Golden status, LittleBigPlanet!

Thanks to the announcement over at the official PlayStation blog, we now know the October 21 release date for North America and Latin America is written in stone, as Media Molecule and Sony have already started making the "PS3 cases, manuals and most importantly Blu-Ray discs." If European gamers are worried, don't fret; the game will arrive in Europe "the same week" of October 21. Oh, and if you're thinking about waiting (Christmas gift, maybe?), you might want to reconsider: for those who purchase the game in the first week of its availability, players will be able to download a free Limited Edition Spacesuit costume for your SackBoy. The joke here is, of course, they're celebrating the "launch" of LittleBigPlanet, so a spacesuit...yeah, you get it. You'll also get a free "I was there Week One" t-shirt, and if you want to check out that Spacesuit, visit the PlayStation blog. LittleBigPlanet is guaranteed to be gigantic!

By the way, keep checking back as we locate more beta test details, which shouldn't be very far off. Between the LBP and Resistance 2 betas, it's hard to know if we should buy games in the store, or just wait to beta test for a few months!
