EA Pushes FIFA 09 Hard In Europe
Pay attention, marketing and advertising students, because Electronic Arts - love 'em or hate 'em - sure knows how to promote a product. Not only are they aware of a particular game's appeal, they know where to push it hardest, and they know how to best take advantage of a certain situation. Plain and simple.
EA is kicking off (forgive the pun) a huge marketing campaign for FIFA 09 in Europe, and as it's a simulator, they've decided to bring in some real-life players to help them push the new installment. Check out the new promotional video for this game; EA brings in the Manchester United's Wayne Rooney and Real Madrid's Gonzalo Higuaín, plus nine more of the top players on the planet. This year, and once again, EA will battle Konami for the ultimate soccer sim prize; FIFA 09 vs. Pro Evolution Soccer 09, and EA wants the head start in terms of advertising. That's no real surprise, especially considering Konami's promotional efforts have been called into question before (don't you think we should've seen a lot more of MGS4 in early June?). This is one video that's going to get a lot of attention amongst avid followers of the sport, and lest you forget, there are millions of them everywhere.
Who will have the edge this year? Which will the fans choose as their favorite soccer title? Many familiar with both franchises will say PES has the upper hand, but we've heard nothing but good things about FIFA 09. And hey, doesn't this video psych you up? Kinda the point of a good ad.
