Amazon Discounts PS3 Accessories

October is loaded with potentially awesome games, and we know a lot of wallets out there are going to be complaining bitterly. Hence, if you want to give your poor whining bank account a break, head on over to Amazon and partake of some their nifty new PlayStation 3 deals.

First of all, they've discounted the upcoming PlayStation 3 Bluetooth Headset, which releases on September 30. You can pre-order this item for $10 less than the suggested retail; it'll only cost you $39.96. You can save another ten bucks if you spring for that nifty wireless keypad, which is also down to $39.96. You'll have to wait a bit longer for the latter, though, as it's not scheduled to arrive until November 30. Still a damn good deal, though, and to complete the attractive discount trifecta, the Dual Shock 3 controller is down to $40.96. You can really stock up on all the newest accessories, and save yourself a good chunk of change in the process.  Sure, one can make the argument that accessories used to be a whole lot cheaper back in the day, but if you want better stuff, you gotta pay for it.  Besides, that headset is going to be capable of doing some pretty amazing things for something so small...  Won't you need one for going online with Resistance 2?

As for the PS3 itself, it's best to say the machine now costs $200 less than it did upon launch, and a new 160GB mammoth machine is scheduled to drop for the holidays for $499. Could Sony dominate the latter part of 2008...?

I think its safe to say that Sony has the year under its control. I mean, with LBP, Resistance 2, Home (possibly), and Motor Storm: Pacific Rift, there is really no competition for the PS3 as far as games go.

You're right that Sony is up game wise, but a 360 arcade is just $200. Lots of people will only go as far as the sticker price and make their decision on what to buy. Hopefully lots and lots of PS3s will get bought off shelves and we get some exclusives, or at least multiplat (I'm looking at *you* Tales of Vesperia).

Awesome peripherals, upon hearing I went and pre-ordered the keypad. I'm tired of using that damn text box to pm! I know two people who are buying a PS3 just this week. One for Socom and the other as a media center. I talked him into it since he wanted a blu-ray player. Where else will you get blu-ray, full hdmi, plenty of space to store songs, and the internet? It's a steal at the price of 399. xbox 360 is dying off already

See! thats why i prefer amazon compared to gamestop. Gamestop are cheap bastard fanboys trying to steal your money and forcing you to buy the consel THEY want you to buy.

helpful? honest? unbiased? damn you must have the bizarro gamestop near you. I went in to mine just Saturday so I can hear them snicker at me when I asked them if they had any PSN cards followed by the "tsk, yeah right" Which was preceded by waiting patiently next in line for more than 5 minutes only to have the "manager" ask me if I was ready when the other clerk just finished with the guy in front of me. I got no use for that store. Amazon and gamefly for me. Sorry for the rant and being a little off topic
