Madden NFL 09 Patch Now Available
Okay, football fans, EA is aware of the problems some of you are having with Madden NFL 09, and they've released a patch today to take care of most of those issues. If you're logged in to the Network when you boot up the game, you should be prompted to download the new update.
The patch should address several significant problems, mostly related to multiplayer: there's the kicking play disconnection issue, where two opponents using different camera angles can cause the contest to stop suddenly, there are multiple stability enhancements (for the Madden IQ system as well), and the lamers will be unhappy to learn they've fixed the "wide-receiver direct snap" play. It's a small bug in the game that allows you to snap the ball to the WR for an automatic short yardage gain every time. Yeah, some of you know what we're talking about, and EA is going to take this fix one step further: they're going to reset won/loss records for anyone found to have been abusing this play. Fitting justice, yes? The only side effect of this patch appears to be obvious: users are complaining that the CPU takes way too long to snap the ball now, so it's not all roses.
